Seems to me that Elans flirting with Kep is eclipsed by Keps growing fixation with Birten. Wonder what Elan will do about Keps slip on the whereabouts and actions of Daegon and Birten?

The work has a solid feel of being anchored in the present , realizing and living the moment .

Arming Kohen , not only with physical weapons but also with their trust in him , is probably the final piece to set him truly free from his past and the Brox control over him. Giving him the freedom to trust in himself and his colleagues. He is bound to be a devastating asset in the upcoming war because he understands the other side.

Seems Simons pretty dismal ,in fact awful , past is being mitigated by the supportive community he’s found in his present. His subtle strength is bound to win him more supporters and be an asset to the group in the future.

Drew is realizing that not all wealthy , priveledged people are inherently bad and shallow , that people from all walks of life are full of surprises. He also is fast realizing that he has fallen down a rabbit hole into a whole new reality .

Now that Harmon has an inkling of Elsiors extra curricular interests , I wonder what else he will discover and how he will react. Will he try to warn Birten and Daegon?

The Scotts of this world usually get too confident and that is their downfall. His can’t come soon enough ... neither can Marks sisters. Bobby and Mark seem well matched and may draw strength from each other.

Good lord , Topher really is better off with his school friends! What a miserable bunch of gits , he called friends . Seems his father may have had an epiphany or st the very least have been guided by a far more benevolent higher power.

The circumstances surrounding Elsior and his actions become stranger by the chapter. It’s difficult to determine his end game . Is Harmon involved or merely another pawn? How did Elsior Heat the food do quickly , unless he’s a dragon shifter ? Be that as it may , he seems to be more trouble than he’s worth .

I am Gay and I have once upon a time been very active in the gay community . Now... thank heavens not ! Like any community they are largely opinionated , self centered, self serving and bigoted . I’d rather spend my time reading or traveling with my husband . Does this make me less than gay?

There was an intimation by Prism , after his discussion with Kaeral on escape , that he was going to move into whatever his future held. This became cemented in reality after he meets Janlynd. It’s not surprising the present day Prism is moved by the memory it portends such an auspicious beginning .

Short , sweet and secretive. With the Captains protection it seems everyone quickly forgets that Kohen is a formidable being .... then again maybe it’s a blessing that they do, it leaves him an awful lot of room to maneuver .

It’s always telling that disdain and disregard often veneer the deeper emotions carried by generational family members. Grimm certainly was surprised by his fathers apparent about - face. The relationship between Veil and Grimm seems uncomplicated and naive , fitting their ages at this time, before time , ambition and personal politics intervene.

That everyone who matters rallied to a birthday celebration on such brief notice is a major indicator that Artie is damn important to them. Even Sadie seems to be seeing the light! The grandparents have already shown that along with being pretty parsimonious , they’re also in need of money , attack them on three fronts ; the wishes of the deceased , Artie’s coming out and Adams ( seemingly comfortable) resources thrown at a good lawyer! Any lawyer they find will want to be paid , the type they would find , in particular , wouldn’t fight on promises only.

So Kep meets Elan, I wonder how his new found dragon-sayer knowledge is going to assist him ? Or if it will at all . Pity Birten and Daegon are so far away.

I loved the use of the sight sense in each stanza, ‘look ‘ and ‘watch’ in the first two are passive , then ‘see’ in the final stanza which is active , has a kinetic feel.

It’s lovely to experience Eric’s awakening to the fact that some people do care and will take the time out to connect. His embarrassment over his disbelief in the Boxing Day plans was tangible and touching.

I think I like Dom even more! His three friends seem to be a little ‘convenient’ , I would be livid if I was ignored deliberately whilst in hospital , whatever the reason for my sojourn there. That they knew it was depression and a suicide attempt makes their actions unforgivable . I hope Topher makes for a more reliable friend .

I imagine if Kohen’s changes were wrought by his bonding to the Captain , then being intimate and having some part of the Captain as part of him is going to complete his transformation. I too, believe he intends to be at the vanguard when the Captain meets the intruders, much to their chagrin .
