    Chapter 1

I really enjoyed this sweet, happy story. I especially liked the balance of the notes which started and ended it.
  2. Good night tim. Not far behind you...

    Chapter 1

I enjoyed this chapter. You set things up well: who is Corbin, and what is he hiding from? And who's showing up at his place unannounced with a gun in hand? These are questions I'll look forward to seeing answered in the next installment.

    No Wonder

No wonder, indeed. There are ever those who will use brutish nastiness to control what they cannot understand, or do not want to think about. How hard it is to have thought, wondered and tried to articulate that which we know about ourselves - only to be spat upon or ignored for it all. But never wonder my friend, that there are also those who see and delight in the light that burns bright within you.
  5. I can't be absolutely certain, but it looks like a pin oak to me. That would make sense, as pin oaks often hate to drop their leaves, often carrying them through the winter. When the spring comes and the sap runs, that pushes the tree to detach old leaves and grow new ones. The younger the tree, the more likely it is to hold onto its leaves.
  6. I like very much that you began and ended in poetry. In some ways their day was a lovely poem, as you described. Aiden and Jenn and Jordan's mom are right to be happy at Jordan and Noah returning to one another. Their joy in one another radiates from every line you wrote, and these supporting characters must feel it too. Thanks for letting us see this.
  7. Definitely no sports for me yet. Hugs! I’m off into the snow...
  8. Wish me luck. First day back at work today.
  9. This poem opens a question as broad and deep as the ocean which separates us. How real are we to one another? How can we fight the brain’s natural urge to categorize and neatly order everything for its own convenience? Wonderful.
  10. Great word for today. Maybe you saw the movie The Prestige? It involved professional magicians and conjurers.
  11. Hello, Wayne. Welcome. Hope you find the community here to be as warm and encouraging as I have.

    Beware Gremlins

I love the idea of a Gremlin Bell. But @northie, I’m so sorry for the series of unhappy breakdowns you’ve had to face.
  13. You’re so right. Patience, though necessary, is very difficult. Yet I admire you for the patience you have displayed. You know that I send you hugs; may you feel them and help you sustain your efforts.

    Chapter 6

The pace quickens, and so much is pinging around the sensory ether. But most important is Nico’s success in drawing himself and the king together. And what a priceless way to exit dinner! Excellent.
  15. Now you can take care of those gunshot wounds... nice piece.
  16. L Looks like the wild grapevines behind my house. They’re fun.

    Hello, Goodbye

I’m deeply moved by what you wrote here. You bring people to life so well, even as they grieve. Beautiful.

    What is Normal

This is a great poem, especially for those of us who are eccentric, unusual, or just plain unexpected. Normal. Such a mathematical word, and one which by definition cannot cover every person or occurrence. We all need just enough conventionality for our own purposes. Thank you for saying far more gracefully than I ever could.

    Sparks

I’m sold on this one. Lyrical and compelling.
  20. Good night everyone! Safe, cheerful and fun evenings to everyone.
