Thank you for this, Dugh. Morning was meant to skip, to dance. Glad you spoke it aloud. I had to do that several times to get it to scan right. Evening could be song or poem, I hope. And while it is a snuggle, it is also a farewell, as you noted. You are so kind to comment.
Perhaps Morning needs a lute? How interesting that you make the Warlock connection. Evening certainly seemed the more medical of the two poems here. Being cradled and cuddled by one you love is undoubtedly one of the greatest gifts life can bestow. Thank you for your really interesting thoughts.
I am glad you thought these beautiful. Renga all by oneself is tougher than I thought. Your story about the bird is apt. There is a wood thrush singing in the forest behind the house - unusual, because I haven't heard one all summer. But if these brought tears, at least I hope they were good ones. Thanks for reading!
Morning mixes meters, as composers often did in the sixteenth century. I hoped that experiment worked out. Your image in Evening is exactly what I had in mind; a perfect kind of snuggle. Thank you for reading these!
Morning
Morning breaks upon the hill,
wake and sing,
cry aloud, let none be still,
for every bird in bright array
will greet with joy the dawning day.
Sing, make haste to add your voice,
dance for love,
join sweet Eros and rejoice,
abandon melancholy guise,
clasp hands beneath the sunny skies.
Dance within the glade so green,
laugh in light,
here let us in love convene,
upon a secret snowy bower,
for now t
Angry, sad, tearfully happy - I experienced all of these as I wrote. I hope you did, too. But through it all, the remarkable story of Andy shine through. The boy who refused to surrender, and found love. And in this chapter, quite a lot found him, too. Thanks again for reading!
Thank you for reading this story. It took
a long time to unwind, but I felt happy for Andy and Zander when I typed the last period. And thank you for your kind and generous comments.
I am glad you were inspired. And if you felt tired afterwards, then I accurately conveyed what was happening in my brain and in my being present. Far better to write than take a video. Thanks for being patient. I am so glad you took time to read and comment.
Thank you, dear friend. These moments needed description, begged for something better than forgetting them as quickly as possible. And I am sorry to have been so slow to respond. We can thank AC ( @AC Benus ) for his help in making this form take shape.
You make some excellent points here. I am very happy you are bringing them out, because this is precisely why I wanted to post this story. Who is redeemable here? And what kind of lives are these? Can they find something different? You read very minutely here, and I am delighted you have done so. Thank you.
No, the internet never ever goes away. About the only thing that such images can to is fade in the minds of watchers, who get bored with the old, and crave the new. I am sure the main character must understand everything you've said. It must bite him hard in the conscience. Thanks for reading so carefully and acutely.
Of course, it remains to be seen what our main character will do. In the large picture, you're probably right, but for the immediate future, he may have some muddling around and mind sorting to do. Many thanks for reading, and for your patience.
A few things might have tipped Marc off to the change in the main character. For one thing, his appearance - ratty and disheveled, like he's been living out of his car - must be way off. And again, there may be some subtle change in body stance and body language that Marc might pick up. As for Lee, Marc's other half appears to be genuinely compassionate and blindly kind. It is possible that Lee's insistent innocence is something that endears him to Marc. But your point is well taken. Perhaps some of Lee's compassion has rubbed off on Marc. Thanks for your patience in this. Your questions are very good ones.
I am glad you have been feeling these emotions: they are the same as the ones I felt in writing this story. I hope also that you find the story sufficiently intriguing to continue. I am sorry that I have been very slow to respond. It has been a crazy year, and a number of comments slipped past me. For that, I apologize.
These are excellent questions. Is he ready to change? Does he realize what he has done, or could still do? I am glad the story is sufficiently thought provoking to you. Thanks for being patient while I found time to comment. Glad you kept reading.
I think his first instinct and first hope is to hide as well as possible, and for as long as it's can be managed. This wasn't half as unexpected for you as it was for our main character! Thanks for your patience and kindness in commenting.
