Note to Austin: you just got badly hurt by a boy you thought you could trust; someone who you thought you might be able to give away a pice of yourself to. He's not a bad guy, but incapable of being what you need, apparently. Forget him, but don't give up on the idea that you can be happy. Someone good and right and ready for you will come along, really. As for the boy who gored you, he's got a lot of maturing to do, and is bound to get hurt just as badly as you hurt now. Probably several times over, by the look of things. Don't be mad at him for long, just pity him for his inability to handle any kind of relationship for more than a few days. Note to Ronyx: awesome story.

This is fun! A new treat every day...and this one was such a lovely treat. They will remember this Christmas for years to come; they will date their memories by their frittata. I agree with AC, that we often reenact without looking for something new and beautiful on its own. Great story.....um, Val, I think.

This chapter could spur its own forum on chapter titles, it seems. One doesn't want to show mercy to TP; Marc is certainly struggling with it...but maybe the mask is coming off, and the awful man behind it may not be there anymore. As for the technical question you pose, Marc shows he has a few devious connections of his own...I expect he may have a friend who can figure out the administrative computing necessary to make the changes....

Marc is trying, at least for Lee. I don't think it us faking it til he makes it, more like attempting something and trying to get it right... And knowing that he's doing it imperfectly. The final line he delivers sums it best, perhaps. Many thanks for continuing to read this story...and for your comments!

There's a very interesting story developing here. What is really going on in Alex's head? What's going to happen with Sasha and Callen? And can Tracy get over his 10-years-ago self? All that still to come. Looking forward to reading the next chapter....

TP is going to generate a whole slew of new titles! I'll have to keep a logbook, like they do on board ship. But the whole intern thing does seem like a big comedown, doesn't it?

Everything happened so fast after Christmas, he barely had time to keep track of the changes. The day after Christmas, he'd asked Marc to drive with him down to the dealer who sold him his car. How I remember the many Advent Calendars we have had...and the ugly sweaters I have endured. But this one is surely special, despite the tears and the hurt it brings. Thanks for this poignant snapshot of sorrow and healing.

So much planning, and plotting. But in the meantime, what a very nice way to turn eighteen! It is terribly hard not to envy Chuck/Charles. He appears to be a great kid with a good heart, and a deep pocket. Perhaps the weirdos from St Loonies church of the hurt should pack up before they get embarrassed or further exposed...

I feel for poor Austin. He's caught up in some kind of vortex of feelings around Zac. He can't get free of his attraction, but he won't allow himself to be caught up in it, either. No matter what he does, he feels in conflict; and giving away part of his very private life must be incredibly hard for him. I am glad Zac didn't give up on Austin, and insisted on his coming to the meet in the morning. Can't wait for what happens next, even if it's just plain friendship.

I am glad you liked these two small offerings. They give us a taste of the changing season, and of the expectancy we can feel the air about this time of year. And Orion is one of my favorite constellations; I liked the connection you made in your remarks. Thanks so much for your thoughts.

Yes, it seems that TP has made a decision of a kind. Of course, it remains to be seen if TP can act on his resolve, for all he has done is make a promise to himself. As you point out, he is good at following through on such promises in the past, when they were fueled by spite or something worse. Christmas, and more importantly, Lee and Marc, have worked this miracle, if miracle it is. Many thanks for your thoughts and responses, and for sticking with the story despite its very dark beginning.

Orion is one of my best nighttime friends, it seems. He keeps coming back to me every time I try to write about the night sky or the moments before dawn. I am glad you got my allusion. You're not slow, I was being somewhat obscure. Thanks for responding to these and for taking the time to read them. - P

I am so sad about Jae, and the pain Dave feels seems so very real. But even so, this is a good chapter. A healing kind of chapter. Dave and Jim and Gareth return, and the community is set to burgeon and prosper. And while Terry will never be Jae, perhaps love can grow there in Dave's heart again, too. Thanks for this chapter, and for this story.

The trees on the ridge behind my house gave the inspiration for that line you like...today, the winds from the south were blowing the clouds aside to reveal stars; Orion retiring behind the horizon, and Ursa growling in the north. Thanks for helping to make these so much better.

Like miss Sybil, I get a good feeling and a bad feeling from this chapter. The boys could be in very great danger. Is their life so strong that they are blinded to it? They seem to think not, taking on the hunt as a necessity. At least let them wait upon their copper chains, and work out strategies to let them prepare. But like everyone at Morningstar, I'd much prefer to see them safe and happy. great chapter...more? -
