oh just chucked 6 poems that i wrote... omg i had this much trouble the first time. i hate tanka.. and i'm not much happier with haiku. mind you it took me weeks to get meter. now it's just second nature... well i will try more tomorrow...

Never did well with Tanka .. the first round of prompts or this. Possibly it doesnt help that i hate winter ...

hehe ... you don't know me too well ... even if i only ever write one properly ... yeah, i have to. Tanka are subjective and should have the poet's feelings and pov. The ones i've written don't feel right to me. I posted one on Live poets, and what i think about it ... we shall see. right now i'm gonna get ready to go back to the doc's again... i slept all night, coughing like a dog this morning, feel weak all over and just want to sleep ... either i'm still sick or my mental state is much worse than i thought. FML, seriously. ugh

Did you read AC 's new book? The intro is really good, very inspiring and interesting.

no.. AC has released a new book of poetry prompts.. starting with Tanka's. I've been writing them and of course counting syllables. i really do not enjoy either tanka or haiku for this reason.

if you do the prompts as they are, starting with 1 and working through them all.. you will learn how to write much better poems and sonnets .. have you read any of AC's sonnets? I'm sure he channels shakespeare...
