Wonderful! The sense of being on campaign comes through so strongly and his attachment to his faithful horse.
I was as much blindsided by the ending as Oliver would be.
Poor Parker's already getting fed up of me sending him chapters of various things for him to edit / beta read. One of them at least should start posting soon.
I'm going to have to ban myself from looking at anymore prompts. I've already got three stories in various states of incompleteness and now (thanks to this entry) I have another one floating round my head.
Thanks AC, for your usual thoughtful, perceptive comments on my story.
As people lose their right to privacy (voluntarily or otherwise) they fear the hold that others can have over them.
I love those EM Forster short stories that I've read - I must go in search of this one. And indeed, the Black Mirror ...
I loved it! I don't read much sci-fi but when I do, I like it to be well-written and believable (within its own limits). To also include a romance as well ....
A Part 2 would be nice. Please, pretty please.
I only tinkered round a few of the edges.

I was intrigued by the sexless pronouns which mysteriously disappeared just as Angel was getting interested in Imp - very cleverly done. Your promised sequel will be eagerly awaited by this reader.
Christmas is a time for taking in waifs and strays but the generosity and thoughtfulness displayed towards TP is stunning yet utterly believable. For all that, he is still on the periphery of the celebrations and where better place to see all that he should be and perhaps may once have been.
A wonderful, wonderful chapter.
I don't think he's someone deserving of sympathy. But still, I share your unease at the summary justice he's going to face.
Thanks for your thoughtful review.
Thank you for being my first reviewer.
When I started writing this, I thought it would be humourous and quite light. As it progressed it darkened, but at least he got what he deserved in the end.
“Privacy!”
The walls of the room became a little more opaque. It was a pain to take his feed off-line as it seemed to attract hackers like sharks to fresh blood. However, these new model synths were rumoured to be very quick to detect offence or criticism. He didn't want the hassle of a complaint before he could effect certain alterations (not approved by the manufacturer). He was the only one who was going to be complaining today.
“Call Synthuserve.”
