Chapter 2 Know when to fold 'em
hohochan657 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 2 Know when to fold 'em
And the pain goes on ... and on ... (channelling Celine Dion) ... -
DAMN you Gary, I've finally come around to reading this story and you wring my heart out in the first chapter !
-
Is this going to be a murder mystery ? Nothing in the description gave a hint of what would transpire ... intriguing ... hmm ...
-
Well, I should take this opportunity to wish CG a very happy birthday ! Many happy returns !
-
What kind of writing prompt is that ?? Morose and morbid ( to say the least ) ... When has the universe ever been fair ?? Brushing away tears of sadness and frustration ... WHY ? Trust Gethin to latch on to a problem that he could solve - lack of cereal bowls - and pushed to the back of his mind / ignored the questions that no one could answer ... How do you mend a broken heart ?

I rather like the way Hrishi dealt with Leon's intrusion, in my opinion it was gracefully executed. He also gave Marty space to "fix" his oldest friend and I found him to have acted in a very mature manner. I really do not understand why the two of them couldn't behave in this way towards each other most of the time, instead of being nice for a brief moment and then "... quickly we both dissolve into argument ..." I just wanted those two to have a go at a relationship ... that is not too much to ask for, is it ? Yeah ! Carlos's comment is spot on !

Chapter 17 The Party and Afterward
hohochan657 commented on Daddydavek's story chapter in Chapter 17 The Party and Afterward
So HAL was caught snooping around ! Hmm ... As telepaths, Abel 3 and Dennis should be able to feel the real love they had for each other much more quickly than normal humans, at least according to the laws of DDK ... Nevertheless, the whirlwind romance was still sweet and touching, ah, true love ! -
Chapter 9 More Problems
hohochan657 commented on Daddydavek's story chapter in Chapter 9 More Problems
I'm really tempted to read the ending and back track from there ... BUT you'll probably yell at me ... Just where is Abel 3's mystery man ?? Hate to see him so lonely ... -
Chapter 6 Assessing Problems
hohochan657 commented on Daddydavek's story chapter in Chapter 6 Assessing Problems
I have started binge reading this story at the suggestion of Jim (Sojourn). Well he actually mentioned your story in his reply to your review of Change of Heart ... Now I'm hooked ... Well, I've got to go, late for my lunch as it is ... Later for this wonderful tale so far DDK ! -
I really enjoyed the interaction between Jeff, Paul, princess, DJ, TR, Paul and Maria at the Lake House. So now I have to go back and read that story of yours. I'm sure I will enjoy myself while we wait for the next chapter of Change of Heart ! Oh, the scene with Jeff being greeted / struck in his gulf region by the force of a category 2, in equal parts hilarious and cringe worthy, just makes you wonder why he had enjoyed "some consensual ball play" earlier that morning ... ( I am sorry, Jim, can't help teasing you about this ...)

I have to read all the other reviews to help me understand the ending of this story. Yes, I googled the word "execrable" as well ... truly appalling, awful, dreadful ... BUT there is hope, at least I hope for the same number of monsters amongst us, there will be an equal number of angels here as well ...

You DO know that readers at GA have their own stockpile of pitchforks and torches ... to use on cruel authors who post cliffhangers at the end of too many chapters ... don't you ? Offing a well liked character in the story will earn you yet more pokes and burns !
-
OH NO ! Alek, don't give up on Liam yet ! He wasn't going steady with Nathan ! This misunderstanding is awful !
-
Evidently Paul knew how to defend himself and would stand up to bullies (for someone too young to fight for himself i.e. Seth). That senior vet was a total asshole, a self hating homophobe, a rapist (?!) => good riddance that he had gone OR did he come back for revenge ? I simply wanted to say to Paul, "JUST say NO to any kind of spanking if you don't enjoy it. YES, you can stand up to anyone, even your lover / partner / significant other if you feel uncomfortable in any way !" Yep, my pet peeve is still BDSM activities ... Jeff, you should be cherishing and protecting your love, not "make" his "naked ass cherry red before" you "fucked it" ... Paul deserved to be treated better, not simply "a piece of ass". Shame on you ! Oh, Jeff, b--tiality, not cool, not even as experimentation, just NOT cool ... :pissed:

My initial reaction was hot and bothered; not screaming and running for cover ... Is that an improvement ? Whew, I'm going for my morning shower now, and turning down the water temperature ...

Chapter 20 Close cousins
hohochan657 commented on Timothy M.'s story chapter in Chapter 20 Close cousins
Great ! Another new chapter ! AND posted only one month after chapter 19 ... Do we have the pleasure of a regular, monthly posting of Cardmaker and Caretaker ? We miss all our favourite people and 2 spirits ! -
Usually the characters in your stories had to travel to the pits of hell before they would bounce back up. So who would be facing more hardship in the coming chapters, Declan Foster or Bailey McIntyre ? Ooo ... the anticipation is keeping me on edge, I'd be a nervous wreck when you finish ...
-
Usually I'm very uncomfortable with firearms stored within a domestic environment, but cowboys need their rifles (alright, they're pistols and such, in this case). We have very strict gun control in this part of the world. However the boys had stressed the need for safety, especially in the presence of children, more than once, so ... hmm ... Why would someone want to murder Paul as well as his young daughter ? The perpetrator would have to be one very sick and cruel person OR would there be something / someone coming to haunt him from his past ? As you say, the plot thickens ...
-
I agree with what Ruslana said This short piece is thoroughly enjoyable BUT as I've died and returned as a spirit, I shall say this to you *the next chapter of Wild Card is overdue* *the next chapter of Wild Card is overdue* *the next chapter of Wild Card is overdue* ... ... ...

Chapter 46 Shining a Bright Light into Darkness
hohochan657 commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 46 Shining a Bright Light into Darkness
Reading what Keller said about the path the Earth Mother had planned for the shifters, I finally realised that She was trying her utmost to lead them away from the brink of catastrophe ! I totally take back my complaint (which I made in my review for the previous chapter) about seemingly indifferent immortals / deities. She'd watched, with I suspect, increasing distress, the decline of her children and finally sent another "saviour" to "shine a bright light into the darkness"; to bring them HOPE and to give them a direction FORWARD. Nothing had been left to chance, She had placed nearly everything in place for her children to follow through. They should really be thankful and GET ON with the "mistress" plan ! -
Even I, as a voyeur, is finding the interaction between Hrishi and Marty a bit stale ... The sex seemed to be fantastic between the two, but the other part of their relationship was inching along at a snail's pace. Defending Hrishi in the bathroom would gain one small point from me in Marty's favour, but violence would not solve his problems, and there would be many. It seemed like the calm before a storm ... The anticipation is really a mood killer.

Another story that is bittersweet. Well at least in this case it is bitter first, Maurice losing the love of his life; and ends on a sweet note, Maurice and David holding hands leaving the park and possibly starting a friendship or more. Reading other reviews sometimes could be very moving, as in CG's piece (which brings tears to my eyes). Gary, your writing evokes so much genuine response from your readers, kudos to you !

WHY am I the only one who cringe at the concept of BDSM ? Why do I torture myself reading this ? Why do you all creep up on me with this topic when I least suspect it ? O M G ... Okay, it's 2 o'clock in the morning and I have reduced self control and little civility left ... :collapse into bed:
-
We, as readers, would have welcomed a longer chapter, instead of that bloody cliffhanger ! Now we have to wait ... argh ! You surprised me with the dynamics of the bedroom / sex scene in Jeff's house, I guess I am stereotyping big top (Jeff) and smaller bottom (Paul); my bad ... At least in bed they would on a more equal footing in terms of a relationship, as you've hinted that Paul would be overwhelmed by Jeff's wealth. The secondary characters / supporting cast all seem to be very interesting, this is a story with a really robust setting. Jim To paraphrase you "the path of true love never runs straight", what are you going to throw at them ? What roadblocks / obstacles will you put up ? It doesn't bode well for the two lovers with the fire that you've started at Paul's home ... Just to remind you that there's the tradition on GA for readers to use pitchforks and torches to signify their disapproval of authors who hurt their loveable characters that they've created ... just saying ...

Good grief, although this chapter is pleasant, easy to read, enjoyable; the reviews are still polarised into 2 camps ... and then we move to the discussion forum and things really get heated ! Alek didn't even make a physical appearance in this chapter and yet the mere mention of him stirs up such strong emotions !
