Once bitten, twice shy; so Liam would be really cautious with how he dealt with Alek; this is understandable ... He would really have to be certain how he wanted the relationship to go before he told Alek the truth about Nathan, or else that would be leading Alek on and unfair to him ... I too, am pining for a happily ever after for Liam and Alek, as well as for Nathan and Bryce and everyone else ...

Years had passed and you still treated him like an underage youngster ... how stupid could you get ? Now you'd gone and jeopardised the carefully laid out plans to replace incompetent public officials with better trained and friendlier professionals ... Just how much grovelling would you have to do to return yourself to Danny's good graces ? God, you were a fool ...

What the hell were Chris and Eric thinking ... or did they use their brains at all ?! Did Declan delete that first video or would that still be in his phone ? Would he man up and report the bullying to the coach or would peer pressure force him to keep quiet ? I have my suspicions as to what happened to Bailey's father and who that woman would be ... But Bailey seemed to be resigned to the fact that reporting abuse / bullying would be a futile exercise, this breaks my heart ... I suppose this story, being based in the present time, should resonate more with me because then I can't pretend that things may not be so bad in the real world ... Falling Apart took place in an alternate Renaissance Europe ... This, however, hits too close to home ...

I agree with you @Sasha Distan Hrishi would never let Marty get big headed with his fame ... Perhaps now the two of them could have a normal conversation like everybody else ? My poor Cory ... Connor Jr would need to simmer down, what Efrain said to him was mostly fair; they should've come earlier and broken that news to Cory in a much gentler manner ... It is always so sad, to me anyways, to hear people say that they make their own family and not always by blood. The hurt behind that statement, however convincingly it is uttered, always gets to me ... -
Why would the story take a "much" darker turn if they were to let Ilay take care of "clean up"? Anyway, I agree with Moggy, Paul would have wanted to do the "right" thing, if not for his own conscience, then definitely for the sake of Maria, to set an example ...

How come all Canadians seem so nice ? Liam, Nathan, Alek, Natascha, Elena ... etc ... Sure, they might make mistakes but no one seemed to have a mean bone in them ... It sounded so nice ... Does this chapter gain some points for Tram Alek ??

So they had finally sated their lust / desires / cravings for each other ... So Su Yin was one of many who had been offered to Zhihao, interesting how each of them ended their lives ... So all of this sacrificial rituals / nonsense started with a bet ?? Hmm, somehow that didn't raise demons up in my estimation ... I am very curious as to how Hell would look like in this part of the world, but I may yet regret giving in to my nosiness ...

Yes, as you say, an eye opener for Declan. Real friends would force open your eyes, but you'd have to let them in to do it ... at least Declan was smart / perceptive enough to understand what was happening ... not shut off in his own perfect little world ...

Surely we can't expect Declan, as a teenager, would admit that he was in the wrong. As a footballer, it would be just that more difficult for him to eat humble pie (to an athlete, that would be an unacceptable display of weakness) ... As we grow up we just become that much adept at hiding / suppressing our impulsiveness, prejudices and / or emotions; we pretend to be more mature ... Yes ? No ?

Jim, you're quite right, more questions than answers in this chapter ... So Josh is a self hating, homosexual, burglar with a violent and mean streak crossing over to murder ? How did he manage to take Tom's photos ? So Tom was promiscuous / loose / would not make a great naval officer were he in the Navy ? So how good would Tink be at computer hacking ? Why would a younger Russian have a thicker accent, had he recently arrived in the US ? So many more questions ... had Josh slipped away to cause more harm ? More importantly, when would Jeff and Paul find time for another intimate moment ?
