    Chapter 7

Chapter takeaways: 1. Your research/knowledge of Iranian laws and customs truly adds to the believability of the story. It's too bad the country is so backwards thinking, there's so much history and archeology that's off limits to much if the rest of the world. 2. Fentanyl. Some really nasty shit. I lost a nephew and niece to fentanyl laced overdoses. Made this a hard chapter to read. 3. I'm glad there's more to come. Looking forward to the extraction and threesome. 🤭😉

    Chapter 6

Take aways from this chapter; 1. Henry has a lot on his plate. So many moving parts leave a lot of room for something to go wrong. (But I have faith in the old chap!) 2. Dear old Dad's heart attack. Seems rather ill timed. Hmmmm. 🤔 3. I knew Winnie would show up again. So...escape involves Henry, Winnie and Bijan. Can you say hot threesome. Repeat after me: Scorching. Hot. Threesome!

    Aido Potato

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and throw in my two cents (whether you want it or not, if not, well, stop reading, lol) regarding why Loren is so anti-kid. Simple if you really think about it. He's been in business for himself since he was 14 years old. His business has revolved around himself. While most of us got exposed to kids via babysitting or having younger siblings, Loren didn't. His focus for over half his life has been his brand, his online persona. He's just learning how to be a boyfriend and develop an adult relationship involving letting someone close to him. Kids are foreign creatures to those if us who deal with them regularly. Can you imagine if you're never around kids because the opportunity isn't there. It's not like his friends are participating in Bring Your Child To Work Day. I'd avoid the little ankle biters at all costs if I were him too. (Oh wait, I kinda do!🤭) Anyway, Loren held his shit together pretty well so far. He's learning and trying. That's all we can ask.

Doesn't matter. Still better than a crib. Aido deserves the best! And that's NOT a crib. Insulting for a worldly two-year old 🤣🤣

You have no idea... I make white look dark. As far as the attitude.. hhmmpf.

I know.... right??!! So much better than a plain ol' crib!

Like you'd EVER let Jay or Loren out of the country without you. You'd lock them up tight.

Not my family. They were more NASCAR than football. I'd rather go the baseball route.

Jay didn't have Loren handcuffed and chained to the house. He could've left at any time (thereby breaking Aido's heart) Granted, Jay can guilt trip with the best of them. I'm talking catholic-nun level guilt here. Really. He's got it down pat. Loren survived.... (or did he🤔)

    Aido Potato

My favorite little man...Aido Potato! There has got to be so many conflicting thoughts going thru Loren’s head, but from Jay's point of view, it leaves us guessing. Well done, Mrs. G! Totally worth the edits! A football field toddler bed....what a great, fantastic, brilliant idea!

    Chapter 5

Things I took away from this chapter: 1. Henry might be in a wee bit of trouble in Iran. 2. Weems has it bad for Henry and vice versa. 3. I love the British feel to the story. "In that case, you’d best be on your way. I’m sure you have a schedule to keep.” I kid you not, I read that in a British accent, especially the word 'schedule', with the soft 'sh' sound and not the American hard 'sk' sound. 😆

    Chapter 25

Another great chapter for sure. What struck me the most was this; I guess I’d assumed he’d want to prove his gayness. That made me chuckle a bit and started to pull me out of the pity party I was descending into. I think this highlights Will's continuing journey into maturity and adulthood. In not so distant past he would've pitched a fit at being rejected. As for the Alabama comment, this takes place in 2004, still a time when stereotyping was common. Will's generation was only just beginning to bring change. After all, back then many people thought women couldn’t work at the same level as men, even though most worked full time and were primary caregivers to kids. It was still a widespread belief that gay men were pedophiles. Black people were poor, uneducated thugs responsible for 90% of crime. All immigrants from India owned 7-11s and those from Mexico were field workers or maids. I'm pretty sure Mark didn't mean any offense. He writes his characters true to their beliefs as it relates to the time period.
  15. Thanks! The woman that set me off is a stupid be-atch 365 days a year. Nothing will fix that kind of stupid. Ever. So far weekend has been good. Knocked out another chapter and working on the next. This story is flowing like nothing I've written before.
  16. Well I had another of those moments where my mouth opened automatically, without ever consulting my brain. Luckily it resulted in a good laugh and possible fodder for @Wayne Gray. Thursday I had what was possibly one of the worst shitty days I've had in a long time. We got new check scanners and after being called out by corporate because I wasn't using it, I had to finally troubleshoot. Over 2 hours on the phone with the company that makes these monsters it finally boiled down to "it's probably the scanner." So I shoot an email to the evil bitch in the corporate office, copying my boss letting them know how much time I spent on this and what the outcome was and to advise I would go back to posting checks manually, and that I had a headache. My response? A passive aggressive blurb about how it's the manager's responsibility to troubleshoot and take care of the issue and to let them know what the resolution was. Ummm, I already said it was probably the scanner, which I'm not authorized to order a new one. (this was after an email 2 days prior that stated "if there's anything we can do to help, let us know.") Needless to say, my blood pressure went through the roof. I was enraged, frazzled, pissed off and completely wanted to withdraw from society. Not an option. (Two days later I'm still sorta pissed off. Sometimes it's hard for me to let things go, but I'm working on it. This was the same bitch I hung up on last year when she kept interrupting me. I try to limit my interactions with her to email only.) One of the realtors, who I am also friends with comes in with prospective residents. I'm so not in the mood and tell her I can't deal with anything right now and that I was sorry. It was really windy and she looked like she had stuck her finger in a light socket. Her hair was sticking up every which way. Think Albert Einstein meets Mr. Heat Miser. So without missing a beat, my mouth opens and says "Beck, I feel like your hair looks." She about fell over laughing. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

    Dialog Variety

I enjoy reading and writing stories where the characters have distinct ways of speaking. It's something that I need to pay more attention to on my own writing. It's often difficult because, at least for me, I write what the characters tell me to write, and because they're in my head, they often speak like I do. I do try to switch it up. I currently have a story where a minor character speaks rather formally. Proper sentence structure, no contractions. My biggest problem is trying to teach the damn autocorrect that slang and regional dialects exists. If I drop a 'g' it always tries to add it back 🙄 Tanks fer sharin wif us!

    Beloved

I really should not have read this while at work. It brought me to tears. They were tears of happiness though. To find someone who you can feel so strongly about is a true gift. Treasure your husband and your relationship. It's beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Things I took away from this chapter; Who am I kidding? There's only one... Lord Henry is one freaking horny dude!🤣

    Stinky Nature

Thanks for that visual Wayne. I needed it. I had the worst shitter of a day that I've had in a long time. I don't even want to be in my own company too much longer. Time for me to go shower off my own stink as I just got home from the gym.

    Loren's Recovery

I have the original draft. There's no mention of Oliver Twist. Lying will get you a one way ticket to H-E-Double toothpicks! But thankfully you're still on the righteous path of redemption. Which is a damn good thing because you already know I'm in charge of driving the express train to see my buddy Lucifer!🤣🤣

    Loren's Recovery

So much going on in this chapter, especially on the emotional level for Loe. There's an elephant in the room and they're both ignoring it. Wonder how that's gonna pan out?🤔
  24. A pair of glasses. A deck of cards. The English language is weird.
  25. We saw Morbius tonight (I know, I know...another Marvel-ish movie) anyway...the trailers advertised a series coming to Prime called Outer Range that looks really good. I hardly ever watch TV anymore, but I might give this a try. I think it drops April 15th. It's tagged as a paranormal cult western.
