Thank you Cia. I’ve spent the holiday (St John the Baptist Day in Spain) locked inside hiding from a heatwave and awful hot wind. This claustrophobic setting here seems perfect for reading this beautiful story with so much claustrophobic feeling needing to escape and see the light.
this person is one great writer.
This is not an easy read, far from it. Not only because of the events narrated, but, far more, for the exploration of Scott’s feelings as he wrestles with what he wants from, and can truthfully offer, in two complex relationships.
this is one of the best pieces of writing I have read in a long time.
WOW
I stuck it out for two years raking up huge phone bills and flights London to Valencia… then my amazing mother told me to give up everything and ship out. Been in Spain 19 yrs.
my lesson, unless it’s a short-term absence, then decisions/risks have to be taken.
story is standing the test of time.
As someone who has had a number of major attacks I can relate to this. Waiting for a tube train, crossing a road. Yes it’s in the mind but try convincing yourself you don’t like your favourite food and see the mind games that can start.
great-looking story mr M. 🤗🤗🤗
How did I miss this chp? My security system alerts me to any movement from my favorite author but something went wrong, and there will be consequences should this happen again…. But since it was my error I will be merciful… to myself.
great chp, mr A
A triumph of a brilliant author creating something I have seen hints of elsewhere but not like this. Reading this story I have felt part of an incredible creative synergy between an author and her readers, and between her loyal readers
The great 19th- century authors like Dickens and Trollope wrote in installments and received huge amounts of letters. In our age, IMs allow us to interact at an instant and even receive replies!
why do I say all this? It’s simple. This is one great story about a story written by an amazing author whose public react like no other. The rest is just detail. No, seriously, Mrs G has outdone herself. Brava!!!
Intriguing, to say the least! Another great read, but more than that. I can remember being glued to the election in Georgia but was largely ignorant of so much Black history. I’ve learnt a lot, and much of it humbling.
great job, thank you so much 😊
Ok. Given that I have a large number of multiple personalities, can I recommend on behalf of my “friends” Count Dracula, Mary Poppins and Gary the Snail????? That could SCARE Mrs M as well….
After a calm(ish) Saturday, I thought Sunday was v special. I love the way you have allowed the complete Jonathan to start being revealed.
in awe of your writing ✍️
