A thought-provoking chapter, this one more than most. It’s often a simple meal or drink when these stories of Robert’s shift up a dramatic gear, and not the big dramas like many other stories I’ve been reading recently.
For older readers, and not so old, I suppose, the question is, “How was/is it for me?” This story goes from strength to strength.
I wholeheartedly agree. We are lulled into a sense of peace with many-levelled relationships developing and then come the twists and turns as ignorance and bigotry show their ugly faces, but also some surprises. All beautifully written. Perfect.
Umm. I’ve got the opening sentence sorted. It’s all of three words but strongly connected to the theme. For the rest I need Seshat to do her stuff… or Calliope… or Brigid….
Now in Frankfurt, Germany for a few hours R&R. Greta was ill through the night so abandoned sleep at 03.15. Now awaiting boarding. God, 12 hours to get from Valencia to Birmingham (uk).
Waiting to see if my flight will be cancelled tomorrow. As I leave for airport at 04.00 not sure I will get any sleep. General strike called for Valencian Community in protest at handling of the October floods by regional gov. Since said gov has an absolute majority the strike will have zero influence, just tens of thousands of travelers stuffed.
More delights coming in abundance. Denise is a bit of a handful, to say the least!
I an so grateful to @Robert Hugill for organising chp publications to arrive just after I sit down after walking the dogs! So considerate of him!
But if the underage child has been in a homosexual relationship, would that be an issue in a State like NC? Or that his action materially caused the car crash with his shoe hitting father’s head? Seems at least plausible to me as an outsider to US system.
Good luck! I gave up a great job with Fidelity Investments in UK at 45 and came to Spain with no job. Started as an English coach and ended up as a school director. I certainly missed the money opportunities in UK but nothing else. It is always worth going for it, whatever your goal might be. ¡Mucha suerte!
Twenty years of life packed into 6,000 words might seem to be rushing it. But the opposite is true and the story reads at a leisurely pace. A very nice story of how having sex isn’t the most important thing, making love is.
An excellent read.
