  1. Anyone with Brad for a father can pull the “woe is me” card with impunity in my opinion! And. I don’t even like J.

    Chapter 3

@chris191070 is rapidly becoming the Agatha Christie of GA and some of his readers are auditioning for the role of Hercule Poirot, or perhaps Captain Hastings………. V enjoyable, Chris!!
  3. There are some excellent comments and discussion on this chp. Bodes well for writer-audience interaction, which is something I really enjoy. Lee, an excellent start, thank you!
  4. I wasn’t a great fan but they sure could sing a good tune! Some v apposite comments @Summerabbacat….
  5. I suspect that younger generations might never even have heard of Gilbert and Sullivan. I will ask my great nieces! Personally, for light musical entertainment it’s got to be Wagner….

An emotional rollercoaster ride of a chp with, I fear, more to come when the morrow arrives…….. great stuff!

    Chapter 6

Joined up with this story a year late! Not sure how I missed it. A very interesting set of characters and I am enjoying reading how the story develops.
  9. Now Robert takes us to south London, for the next of his lovers’ tales. As usual he maintains his v high standards of writing and characterization.
  10. A very moving collection. Thank you x
  11. Volume three in the Ravello series is another short story, intimately linked to the previous one as it tells of what happens after Toto kisses Michele, but this time through the letter’s thoughts and reactions. Like parts of a dyptich, Toto and Michele hang together beautifully. The prose is a delight.

    Toto

We first saw Toto playing in the square and having been warned off talking to Gianni by his father. Now, seven years later it’s Toto’s turn to suffer. After the long first novel, James takes us back to his beloved Ravello on a short trip to catch up with old friends and new challenges. Exquisitely written,

I think one of the keys to Robert’s writing is the excellent pacing of his stories. Nothing seems rushed or dragging. A great skill for a storyteller…

An intriguing chp. Enjoyable visit to Thomas’s place of work and now the possibility of a weekend in a spa. I know what my answer would be! Man up, Keith!
  17. Fast on the heels of the second detective Ken story we get the next installment- what’s happening with the love-struck teachers at Tom’s school? Be careful, these characters are becoming addictive!
  18. An excellent example of the power of repetition adding force to an intense seasonal piece. Very nice. 😊

    Nice start!
  20. A truly delightful slice of two guys, and their families, coming out and being together. The author has a very good prose style which makes the story flow beautifully. Highly recommended. 🙌
  21. I totally agree! I love the Californian troubles and tribulations of Will, JJ etc., and many others, but @Robert Hugill has brought us something very different in his various tales. Thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you

    Chapter 2

Utterly delightful. I’m there in Ravello escaping from the heat following this young guy, it’s so beautifully written,
  24. Having decided to treat myself to a complete read through of the Ravello series, I can’t believe I omitted to review this opening salvo. The author dazzles us with a prose as beautiful as the lemon groves surrounding Ravello and with a great skill in characterization and storytelling. For me, this series is one of the jewels of GA.
  25. I adore them when they are really ripe, yummy 😋
