  1. I’m glad he is back home and seems to be comfortable with it at this point. I maintain that Alex is an absolute star in this.
  2. A fantastic chapter with a lot of support and love. Adam has found a gem in Alex.
  3. 15 years away from your home, family friends is a very very long time. This really wasn’t healthy for Adam. I can understand what he did, but my word, it must have been a terrible struggle and, I think, one he needn’t have navigated alone. Hindsight is always 20:20.
  4. That’s an enticing prologue.

    Buitrago

Lovely to see George again and have him meeting up with old lovers. I remember the Spanish brothers very well and always felt sorry for the younger of the two, but pleased to see that he has made great strides in his life as a Bishop. Daventry is going to have a very quick learning curve as he navigates the complexities of a Spanish Catholic court. I have no doubt that he will excel.
  6. Return with Honor has brought back so many memories of my own time as a Mormon missionary. Gary, Luke, Chris and Jason all arrive at the MTC with their own unique strengths and challenges. This story tells us how they work these out, and how they all ultimately emerge as hero’s who did “return with honor”. This is a brilliant story, especially if you, or anyone you know, has had to deal with coming to terms with themselves within a deeply unsupportive environment.

    Chapter 12

That concluding chapter has brought quite a few tears to my eyes. Jason has just joined the Hall of Heroes!🦸 I love these guys and wish them every happiness in their future lives. They’d all be in their mid 30s now and hopefully happy. 😊

    Chapter 11 -

Well done Gary and well done Luke. Chris showed exactly what kind of man he is and I respect him immensely. Jason was aced from the matter , but I suspect that this will worry him his entire mission and beyond.
  9. Beautifully and sensitively written. I really need to know which way Jason goes on this.
  10. Luke went a long way to redeem himself in this chapter but Gary will need to toughen up a bit if he is going to survive this mission. Chris remains a natural peace maker who understands the intricacies of human emotion. Let’s see what Jason does with this.
  11. This is complicated now as Chris will either need to report it or keep the secret. He won’t want to report it, but keeping the secret drags him into something he has already said would be wrong - not because of sin but timing.

    Chapter 6 - Breaking

Hmmmm. Supervisor is an idiot, but that kind of dogmatic adherence to the law is very common and highly respected in Mormon circles. I'm glad Luke realised he was way out of line with Gary and I’m equally glad that Gary is coming out of his shell a bit.
  13. We we’re specifically told that P-Day was never to be referred to, even in jest, as Play-Day.
  14. Jason is very like two of my mission companions. One is unfortunately deceased now, but I didn’t keep in touch with either. The Luke and Chris type companions I have maintained contact with despite my coming out. One of them subsequently left the church but the other remains faithful.
  15. I also served a mission and have found these first few chapters to be a real memory booster.
  16. I can see a little of myself in these guys. As a missionary, I was hiding my gayness under a cloak of religious austerity - kind of a mixture between Jason and Gary. I had also completed my degree and military service before serving so I blended the maturity of Chris as well as the academic kind of Luke. I’m really enjoying this trip down memory lane.

    Chapter 3

This poor family is in disarray and Ethan is caught up in it. Mr Jamieson is probably suffering from some kind of depression but the whole family is paying the price. This could end very badly.

    Chapter 2

It certainly seems like the Jamieson family could be a repeat of the Elwood family. I really hope not.

    Chapter 1

I am enthralled already. Where will this go and how will Ethan/David continue to evade the law?

    Chapter 12

    It sounds glorious.

    Deed

Deed is the sequel to Buckshot and will keep you enthralled from start to end. Elias, Theo and the Silver Creek gang arrive in Canada and all seems well at first. That is until a vicious enemy wrapped in corporate respectability arrives on the scene and the same grit that defeated Cobb and Rourke is required anew. A tale of love, determination and loyalty, Deed is a perfect read for a long weekend in.
