    A Long Journey

It's a line from the 'Question Song' which gives Lessa the clue as to what might have happened to the other five Weyrs: Gone away, gone ahead, Echoes roll unanswered, Empty, open, dusty, dead, Why have all the Weyrfolk fled?

    A Long Journey

D’gar sat on the edge of his bed, thinking over the evening’s revelations. It was almost too much to take in. After T’ron’s introduction, Lessa had told the story of the Long Interval that would follow the recently ended Pass. Of the Weyr’s fall into disfavour and the reluctance of Holders to believe, after so long, that Thread would return to menace Pern once more. She told them how, in her time, only Benden Weyr was inhabited and that it had been so since the end of the previous Pass, when all

    Chapter 50

What a Christmas cliffhanger! For sure, there is going to be a confrontation and it's not going to be pretty. The homophobic comment when they were out for a walk may have brought Jason and Nathan back down slightly from their newly found love, but this is going to be so much worse.

    Chapter 1

    Powerful story.

    Chapter 12

It's was different to your other Ravello stories, but worked well. I love the description of the places as well as the characters and situations. Hopefully there will be more to come in the series.

    Chapter 11

Dani is putting himself in too much danger. I’m worried for him.

    Chapter 15 Faith

A lovely chapter. It's so good to see Mitch and Will happy and that all four men are comfortable enough with each other’s company they don't need to hide how they feel.

    Chapter 10

Great buildup of tension during the day, then getting held up by the car crash on the way home. Trouble is, there's bound to be retribution.

That’s because I’m from the UK and we have a bit of an obsession with weather! 😄 Seriously though, I often wondered how bad it would be to fight Thread in conditions with poor visibility such as rain, fog or high winds, so I had to include that.

    Waiting Game

I can understand Eric's procrastination all too well. He's been daydreaming about what might happen if they get in touch again for so long that he's become frightened the reality can’t match up to the fantasy. Felicity needs help, but first of all she has to recognise her situation as intolerable. It's become so much a part of her life over the years, it feels 'normal' to her and she can't see a way out.
  11. I've just read this and realise a serious amount of work goes into each of your blog posts. It’s a pity only the religious festivals show up in the short version. A lot of the cartoons made me laugh, also the joke about the little boy picking up on his mum and dad's explanation of swear words. But seriously, pizza with the works except anchovies day. I like anchovies.

Sorry, but you'll have to wait until next Thursday! And I will be writing about the gap between 'Dragonflight' and ‘Dragonquest', but at the moment it's notes on my ideas board. There will be a few shorter stories in the meantime.

I’ll start posting the new stories the week following this one ending. The big sequel will take a while to plan out and I’d like to have at least the first seven or eight chapters written before I start to post.
  14. Some great stories in this batch.

I like to fill in the little details. Even when important events are going on, the minutiae of life continues. I've a couple of shorter stories to post in the Dragonriders series, plus some original fiction.

Only one more chapter of this story. There will be more, never fear...

D’gar had been hearing all kinds of rumours during the past sevenday. T’ron had fallen madly in love with Lessa. She was going to challenge Mardra to be senior Weyrwoman. Mardra wanted her away from Fort as soon as she was well enough. He preferred to listen to the nearest reliable source of information; R’feem’s weyrmate, Hebiri. According to her, Lessa was sitting up, had started to eat properly and was talking readily. She’d even managed to walk out to the ledge, with some help, to see Ramoth
  18. That really was a long and winding road. Glad it ended well. I remember having old style mobile phones, where the contacts were saved to the internal memory or the SIM card and how easy it was to lose some of them whenever you changed handset.
  19. A gentle story, during which more about the two main characters are revealed on each turn of the path. I could easily envision the trails they hiked and the beautiful scenery along the way.

  20. Beautifully written, evocative story. Lifelong friendship is another kind of love and parting can be equally as painful. The story made me cry, then the song did a second time.

    A Beautiful Path

A beautiful story about friendship and how it feels when you are the one left behind.

    Chapter 8

Ominous ending to this chapter. I feel Giaco is going to get into trouble on this job. Maybe his 'promotion' is for all the wrong reasons; Ettore suspects him and is putting him to the test, or into a position where he is the fall guy.
  23. I reckon the theory at the end of the article is probably the correct one; it is a publicity promo for a TV series. But it could also inspire a writer to explore the idea further. It also reminded me of other articles I have read concerning the phenomena of timeslips. https://www.goodto.com/family/are-time-slips-real-526367

    Chapter 24

What a rollercoaster of a story. There were times I almost stopped reading as it was almost too much to bear, but I’m glad I carried on. Sad there's only one chapter to go.

    Chapter 49

At last! Nathan turning up outside the store on Christmas Eve was the best present Jason could have had. Glad they have, at last, told each other how they feel. Nathan's dad is nasty, through and through, if all of what Nathan suspects is true. He's pretty nasty even without setting up his own son for a drugs bust.
