Great buildup of tension during the day, then getting held up by the car crash on the way home. Trouble is, there's bound to be retribution.

That’s because I’m from the UK and we have a bit of an obsession with weather! 😄 Seriously though, I often wondered how bad it would be to fight Thread in conditions with poor visibility such as rain, fog or high winds, so I had to include that.

I can understand Eric's procrastination all too well. He's been daydreaming about what might happen if they get in touch again for so long that he's become frightened the reality can’t match up to the fantasy. Felicity needs help, but first of all she has to recognise her situation as intolerable. It's become so much a part of her life over the years, it feels 'normal' to her and she can't see a way out.

Sorry, but you'll have to wait until next Thursday! And I will be writing about the gap between 'Dragonflight' and ‘Dragonquest', but at the moment it's notes on my ideas board. There will be a few shorter stories in the meantime.

I’ll start posting the new stories the week following this one ending. The big sequel will take a while to plan out and I’d like to have at least the first seven or eight chapters written before I start to post.

D’gar had been hearing all kinds of rumours during the past sevenday. T’ron had fallen madly in love with Lessa. She was going to challenge Mardra to be senior Weyrwoman. Mardra wanted her away from Fort as soon as she was well enough. He preferred to listen to the nearest reliable source of information; R’feem’s weyrmate, Hebiri. According to her, Lessa was sitting up, had started to eat properly and was talking readily. She’d even managed to walk out to the ledge, with some help, to see Ramoth

That really was a long and winding road. Glad it ended well. I remember having old style mobile phones, where the contacts were saved to the internal memory or the SIM card and how easy it was to lose some of them whenever you changed handset. -
A gentle story, during which more about the two main characters are revealed on each turn of the path. I could easily envision the trails they hiked and the beautiful scenery along the way.

Beautifully written, evocative story. Lifelong friendship is another kind of love and parting can be equally as painful. The story made me cry, then the song did a second time.

Ominous ending to this chapter. I feel Giaco is going to get into trouble on this job. Maybe his 'promotion' is for all the wrong reasons; Ettore suspects him and is putting him to the test, or into a position where he is the fall guy.

I reckon the theory at the end of the article is probably the correct one; it is a publicity promo for a TV series. But it could also inspire a writer to explore the idea further. What a rollercoaster of a story. There were times I almost stopped reading as it was almost too much to bear, but I’m glad I carried on. Sad there's only one chapter to go.

At last! Nathan turning up outside the store on Christmas Eve was the best present Jason could have had. Glad they have, at last, told each other how they feel. Nathan's dad is nasty, through and through, if all of what Nathan suspects is true. He's pretty nasty even without setting up his own son for a drugs bust.

What a pity it has taken them both so long to be able to communicate. But that's how it is when you get older and especially, if like Will, you have faced the prospect of death. Whether this prompts you to write more, or if it just remains as a single scene, this is powerful writing. Very visual too. I can almost see it as the opening shot of a film or TV drama.

An excellent Halloween story, spooky, yet realistic. Scott's ghost would fall into the category of spirits who feel the need to stay around in order to set something right; in this case to help the detective to find his murderer. I guess he stayed around after that because he had become attached to Detective Jeremy and maybe saw in him the father figure he didn't have. -
Not too much of a wait as I’m just finishing up a (relatively) short 6 chapter story about Benden Weyr after all the others disappear. Zalna is the narrator for that one.

Interesting to see so many different takes on a theme. Looking forward to reading the next batch of stories/poems. -
I knew that was going to be an important scene and wanted to get it just right. Looks like I succeeded! There are more Pern stories to be told. It's just a pity it takes so long to write them. I average about 3000-6000 words in a week, then I leave it for a while before editing. So it's not as quick a process as I'd like.
