All in all this was an entertaining chapter and two douchebags got a comeuppance. But I agree that Devin is not honorable in the way he uses his abilities. Also, as @drsawzall pointed out, they are making very little use of the house. If it is so out of the way, why did they walk to the house to get the car, drive to Arby's and back, then walk back to the dorm. They will go through all that to get fast food for one evening, but not to study? I thought studying was the whole reason behind all the deception?

Please let this be a moment of weakness, a blip, a temporary wrong turn on the road to happiness! Until he decides he is worth it, Michael can’t help himself. I just hope Eric doesn’t give up on him, and that Pete gives him a much needed kick in the ass!

I’m hoping that Pete makes the decision easier on him. Pete has been going through his own transformation, thanks to Eric then Maggie. If Pete no longer needs a caretaker, due to gaining a partner in Maggie, Michael will lose his big excuse. He will have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Talon would have turned me into charcoal if he heard my "aaaaaawe" at the end of the chapter! I agree with @drpaladin, they need to let Wyn help. I have a feeling that even if they leave him behind, his minders will again become "indisposed". If Wren is left behind as his minder, I think Wyn can convince him to join the fight.

If you're ever in my neck of the woods, visit Jungle Jim's supermarket. HUGE international supermarket, biggest beer and wine selection around, privately owned with two locations, ever evolving, no self-checkouts, thriving in Kroger's corporate home. Independent stores can work. I loved the short story, and the message.

Best date ever! Even though Eric was the master architect of the date, it felt like Michael was taking a leading role in their relationship. Eric is still kind of fragile, but Michael recognizes this and handles him with love and care.

I can’t decide if Michael is rediscovering himself or becoming a new person, regardless Eric is performing miracles in Hickory.

I think it's been so long since Michael looked within himself, that Eric is able to see things about Michael that he can't see himself. Michael really needs this trip.

M'yn made the right decision this time. I still don't fully trust him, but I have hope now. This is like a crazy cross between Raiders of the Lost Ark and a travelogue! Looking forward to China. -
The previous chapter was the beginning of Michael looking at his life, and at Pete differently. I think this chapter is the beginning of hope being reinstated in Michael's life.

I somehow missed this chapter being posted. This journey has brought sadness along with their achievements. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, which has just been posted.

I looked back at some chapters just to make sure I didn't miss some important info, but no. Parallax definitely did not give Beckett the info everyone thinks he should have. I almost forgot that Colby and his parents were in on this. I hope that Beckett quickly decides to engage with this world, his stumbling through his "dream" is going to get him killed.

Wow, you packed a lot into this chapter, almost as much as was packed into Dave! We had references to Star Wars, royalty, three previous stories, a wild off-camera orgy, and saw some more nature sites. So glad this is not yet posted as complete!
