Davey is doing so much for his family and they are not treating him as a family member, but as an unwanted guest. It looks like Papa wants to have a better relationship, but is too stubborn and grumpy to give in and act like a decent human being. Every member of his family is thinking only of themselves or Jenny (or in Nanny's case, her daughter), not one person is thinking of Davey. No wonder he turned out the way he did in the original timeline. It's a good thing Brian and his family is involved.

I'm encouraged that Davey and Brian are going in the right direction, and also that Brian is taking the right steps for his own education. I haven't found even one redeeming quality in Marcy. I worry a little about Trevor and Brandon, since their girlfriends are best friends with Marcy. I can't get over the difference in David Sr. We all know how he was before, but now we know what a good person he could have been if he had been steered away from preaching at "hate churches".

I think that Brian (and myself) need to stop thinking of Davey and the others as the same people as the last idealic timeline. We are who we are due to genetics and upbringing/circumstances. The core is still there, but these people are very different. Brian can try to influence for the good, but he can't turn them into "his" versions of his friends and there families. As for papa, remember how surprised Davey was in the last book that papa had smiled and laughed on their first fishing trip. This man didn't have that connection. He's just a grumpy old man embarrassed that his grandson has to work 3 jobs to provide for their household. There were no Superbowl winnings in this timeline.

I'm hoping Brian's dad's interest in Davey's family situation will translate into some kind of improvement. It's going to be hard to influence Davey while he's spending all his time working. I hated to see Davey start his heavy drinking so early in his life.
-
You know, that's a good point that I didn't even think about. It would have made a lousy story, though.
-
Brian took the first big step and it went pretty good. I think that both Davey and Brian were big influences to their friends. With Davey out of the picture and Brian in denial since Uncle Rich's death, Brian was still an influence, just not a good one.

I very much enjoyed the heat! I'm hoping you can wrangle a leave for Austin from his superiors. Maybe Dean too, I believe he now has a date with Brandon.

I just saw a story on the news about a crazy big mouse infestation in Australia due to the record rains last year (more rain = more grain = more mice). Google it, it's nuts. A large snake infestation is expected to follow it. Can we blame Ethan?

If she did sabotage the condom and is pregnant, this Brian is not naive, dumb, or deep in the closet. He has his eyes on what is important -- Davey and the prevention of time travel in 2004.

I couldn't ever figure out why Davey, who is so smart, did so poorly in high school the first time. He was working because they have no money. Hopefully Brian can talk some sense into him. It's a shame that the adults in Davey's life are back to the crappy people they used to be. Glad to see Marcy thrown to the curb.

With 28 chapters, I have no doubts that Brian will be able to pull it off. I also have no doubts it will not be easy. I hope he can extricate himself from Missy quickly. Is this the girl he got pregnant in the original timeline? I thought that didn't happen until they were 18. When he eventually finds out about the last timelines, Davey will probably have a harder time believing his dad was President than that he was a time traveller. David Sr. is fairly irredeemable right now.

One of the most entertaining books of the CJ series. We get to know Ritch (no longer Richie) as more than CJ's little brother. He gathers his own diverse squad of men (and one woman) that will stick with him for life. We also get catch-ups with some of our favorite past characters and teasers for the next book!

I am happy for Davey and Brian, and for David Sr. Even though handling the operations in the middle East seems like a terrible job to me, it's something Davey would relish and thrive in. Can't wait for the new book. I'm assuming someone other than Davey will be going back.

This is exactly what I was thinking! The David Sr. From the original and first Do Over timelines was a detestable man. Davey is entirely responsible for giving him the nudge that allowed him to be the person he could be, instead of letting the worst parts of his psyche control him. I was also thinking about how different our world is now regarding information. Even though it is responsible for a lot of bad conspiracy theories, social media would have allowed this information to be released prior to 9/11.

They need to watch their backs. The Bush administration will try to shut them up to cover their asses.

Well deserved, on both accounts.

I'm thinking of so many movies Cyn would like. I can see him being a Disney fan. Lots of "fish out of water" stories. Oh, Elf!!!

Sometimes these two exhaust me!!!! I can understand how frustrated Seamus must have felt not being allowed to see Aiden in the hospital (after a 2 week absence), then be criticized by Matt for doing the same things he's been doing for a year. He was insecure to begin with due to Mike's rant. I can also understand Matt's insecurities. He feels second best to Seamus in every aspect of his life. I hope for Aiden's sake they stop taking out their frustrations on each other and start looking at each other as a team. Ones who love and support each other.

First, I thought ancient bikers liked getting molested! Second, are you saying that WolfM has been sitting on this for months since you proofed?!!

Davey is so much more successful in making good changes to the original timeline with his "nudges" than with his full torpedoes approach. Of course, as far as we know, he's the only one fiddling around with time this do over.

Wow. I'm happy that Brandon's ok, but I hope he grows his hair back quickly, I kind of like my alphas HH&H! I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Some serious investigation needs to happen on our dead evil elemental. Though I don't have clue how you start that when no one knew she existed and she certainly can't be interrogated now. I wonder if someone could pull strings and get Austin some leave. Our hero needs time with his mate (with details, of course)!

The family is still riding a wave of good fortune, MLB not withstanding. I have to agree that Sean and Brandon's venture is probably the key to time travel occurring again. I wonder how people figure out that a medical device can be adapted to use as a time machine? Surely Sean wouldn't want to change this timeline, it's his best, by far. The only legitimate source would be someone in government who was in the know back in 1981. Or someone who was leaked that info. My leading suspect is Bush. I guess my biggest question is who will come back? Davey would have to go back to a 6 year old (which we know now is too young for the brain to handle), since you can't overwrite a current "Do Over" brain.

Wow, I have not heard this before. I hope they do more research on it.

I loved the happy ending, but we all know it wasn't the end. We still have 16 chapters to go and another book! Something happens, and I'm guessing it happens sooner than later. I'm glad that Davey has been able to enjoy his high school years relatively drama free. He deserved a break!

I'm happy that Jeremy got the life he deserved for two years. I'm also happy that Dr. Darnell was ousted, though I would have liked to have heard more details of his undoing. I hope that Davey takes Brian's advice and chooses not to try for a professional baseball career. He was not wrong about them not being able to be out, at least until he got called up and signed a decent contract. I think this Davey is trying so hard to not repeat mistakes, that he has over-corrected. He has avoided taking the lead on anything, unless he is "forced to". What has forced him is his own self conscious, his urges to do what's right. That's who Davey is.
