Bloody hell!...this chapter was a study in Psychology...damn..I like to believe that is why it's among the longest you have written yet in this series... I have been looking forward to Ned and Will meeting...I must admit it went differently to how I imagined it... That closing scene however left me worried and scared in equal measure....it drove home how fragile mental health can be . My most favourite scene is the bitch take down of Sarah McDermot...She had it coming ..She only has herself to blame😂😂 Now two pesky vermin remain......for now...Hale and Abernathy..

Here in my country, we have a special cemetery for those that fought in World War 2.....Most commonwealth countries did indeed send men to fight..

Julian needs to rise above this fray...the suffocating expectation and conditional love...and he needed the events of this chapter to see for himself that no matter what he does, it will never been good enough...the goal posts of what is good enough would keep shifting.....he is after all an ungrateful charity case like that knobhead Robert eagerly told Julian

Gael's story was horrible(remember?)...but even I agree this is dark stuff..We have come so far already though..gotta hang in there...am sure it will pay off ..It always does..

I like to believe this is the chapter when Julian Hayes finally learns he was just a place holder in this family...There is no coming back from that for this family except for the grandma. That whole speech by Robert Hayes at the party was an exercise in cringe..I can imagine the double whammy of pain and betrayal that Julian must be going through...To work hard at something,pour all your creative effort and passion ,only to find out in public that you were just a seat filler for someone.. that you have been preparing for someone to take credit for all your effort. You have written shitty characters over the years but Robert Hayes seems to be in a class of his own...I like to believe that with his own actions in this chapter he caused irreparable damage to his relationship with Julian. I don't think personally I would have anything to do with my family if they treated me like that .

I know we always try to avoid real politics ..but I feel like right now in Europe the only leaders who seem to have some bit of spine are Tusk and Rutte...the others are just spineless...Don't even get me started on the cartoons in Brussels .

This is hands down my best chapter of Carter's throne so far ....I can't believe am saying this but my eyes were literally wet when I read this chapter...Especially the scenes in the Hague of PM Mark Rutte and then the ending scenes...This was so beautiful...Like Will and Lisa ,I felt the hope blossom anew... My best part is how you portrayed the impotence of NATO and the UN in this and last chapters....it's fiction but you could not have clearly stated how the bureaucracy of these two organisations stiffles their role.. Sometimes I wish there was a real politician reading this story....they could stand to learn something important.... Thank you!

All the more reason my loathing for him seems to get deeper with each new chapter.... I find myself really wishing for an irreparable fall,for when they do finally fall, for Sophia and Arthur...

Unfortunately cancers are like that...if one is lucky and they beat it..they usually have a 5 year grace period before it rears it's ugly head again..

I have mentioned it before, countless times..the stories in this universe are mostly about filial piety...You know the whole respecting your elders and all that ..With the exception of Veronica and River in Groom for hire,have you ever seen any other character in the Vanalas universe defending themselves against the 'elders'...I like to believe in another story that interaction between Julian and Robert would have gone a whole lot differently.... Each universe has its own rules and traditions I guess.

God!..this story is a dark one but even you outdid yourself with this chapter @vanalas. Julian's family is full of rotten people ..Arthur,Sophia and spineless people(Clara ,Robert).. .Before this chapter, I had some bit hope that Robert was redeemable ....after his chapter ..have given up on that excuse of a man. ..Makes you wonder if that whole blood is thicker than water thing is right ...

I had a feeling Carnes would not survive the story ...He was a really important secondary character even though he was not a major one. That being said....I like how the holistic growth of these characters is captured in this chapter.. We get to see them evolve in a span of 6 years .That is something to behold Thank you!

My highlight of this chapter was Enrico's entrances....both at the hangar and the party ..That man does know how to own a space😂😂....

And none of his friends take things more personally than Enrico Alvarez.....that man hates barbarity😂😂 which unfortunately those unwitting fools excel in.
