Me too ...it was such a a hard read for me...the good news is at least subconsciously he knows he is just a piece of ass..and that somewhat gives me hope that all is not lost .

That was a really depressing chapter!....I really want to enter the story and wrong MacLeod's neck ..how dare they! Then remaining 5 chapters are going to be a hard read for me...Mental manipulation has to be made a crime against humanity ....

This week am personally calling this chapter..Inextricable Dilemma.. Lyn finds himself in a situation where he is damned either way...Disclosing the affair to Bella,which would be the right thing, is a no..since the backlash would put him at odds with Brad. .Not disclosing it is also going to eat him up tremendously as we all know Lyn's overthinking and empathetic nature.. That being said I changed my assessment of Luke in this chapter. .I remember some folks saying he is immature ..The stunt he pulls with that text message clearly shows he has a manipulative streak in him...Being manipulative requires smarts and the fact that he is able to get Lyn in this situation indicates he we as readers have sort of underestimated him.. The last part of the interaction between Luke and Lyn is a doozy...A lot is said without being and like Lyn am left wondering what exactly is going on. @Cane23 referenced Alexander's dialogue from some previous chapter about Brad's knack for self destruction ..I like to think he must have figured out Luke/Brad's affair from the moment Luke is introduced.. The wedding, if it does take place, will be one hell of an event in this universe ...Personally would give anything to have front seat to the drama😉 that surely to ensue .

I disagree with you @spyke...about Alexander being a puppet master that is....I like to believe the present events are taking place with a week or two.. Chapter 1 has already firmly established that these men were not in contact for 8 years..So that negates the whole Alexander pulling Lyn's strings..Don't you think?...

One word...Finally.....I have been waiting for that decision like crazy...Good to know Joel finally changed his much... Now a future blow out I see happening is when Davin/Joel's burgeoning romance is discovered...that is going to be dramatic as hell.. Just yesterday when was re-reading this chapter...I got to thinking that at the rate this is going....don't know what will get me first....between uncertainty and frustration 🤣🤣

I was thinking when reading that this is actually a Peter chapter!..Like we are experiencing everything from his eyes and it makes the chapter all the more richer for it.

I can tell from how much dialogue(Internal and otherwise) you give her whenever she makes an appearance..

Now that is what you call a plot twist!..Maendrym Cors..Didn't see that coming... That being said.. this chapter and the characters in it are all paying the price of the original sin.. Zdain and Venr have to pay the Piper for the bargain their grandfather must have made with Kal'ditha and whoever he serves ....Bartos has to pay for his father's bargain.... It hastens back to what I mentioned before ..Ambition is good but one has to know when to stop lest their find themselves on the precipice like Berron Rigailon is.. I like to think in a different set of circumstances, Elyssa Monteilon might have been a good mother .Even great..However if you are unlucky to be saddled with a weak POS like Dareis...then chances of that lessen ..
