At some point ,like Celia hinted sometime back, somethings become tired...I know some readers are all about giving Joel some leeway but I personally find this a little taxing now. @Okiegrad has mentioned Joel has fear and anxiety..Granted it's true but he is not given himself any favours.. You cant help yourself if all you are doing is putting up walls and keeping people at bay .He is doing it with Trace and his family ..In his head , they are just a stop over .He is not willing to give folks a chance, to meet them half way.That part with Coach Finn had me wishing could enter the story and tell him we don't always get what we want and that life is about compromise ...this part below pretty much irks me I probably am alone in this but I find Joel a little prickly and quite unlikeable for me..Now I know folks will say his life has been uprooted suddenly and all that but he really has an asshole streak to him .Sorry @Krista..pardon my French there🤣. I guess it comes with putting on a facade for long..it just rubs me the wrong way and that is coming from someone who lives in a country where being queer is dangerous ..not to mention that am a femme projecting guy....now I really gotta stop..am now ranting.. Well...that last scene of the chapter definitely shows Killian has to muster his gifts lest he finds himself in a more precarious situation ... I think guessing the killer this time is going to be hard like a lottery 🤣

Am I the only who thinks this is so far the best chapter of the 6 that have been posted so far!.. One rarely comes across characters like Reese who are so resolute and smart like him...He was able to see the poisonous allure of pills and nipped it in the bud before it had a chance of blooming into something worse .That there was marvelous! Dexter was something else too...It takes guts to admit you have a problem like he does in this chapter .that's just something so ..surreal Thank you!

It's becoming clear ..that Julien overestimates his charm...Maybe he was not an apt pupil during seduction 101...because it must suck having your seduction attempts rebuffed in the way the two brothers do..even though they find him physically appealing🤣

I once mentioned that each past chapter enhances it's corresponding present one...It's on clear display here.. This chapter basically gives us a glimpse into Lyn's psyche...he feels so inadequate that the only way out of the situation is to make up an imminent family move and then take Brad to his 'room'. Like @Cane23 aptly stated ,his room is the only place where he seems to have a semblance of control and in his mind he feels by taking Brad there ,he has some of that control back. Much is 'said' with Brad's reaction to Lyn's home...I like to believe he finds the place wanting..like the expectations he had about Lyn just been blown to smithereens..In that moment I cannot help but feel pity for Lyn...It must be so taxing having to put on a facade full time... That being said ...this was a sad chapter for me....Sad in that a whole lot would be solved if these two young men would really talk...but then again the story would be over already...right?🤣

I felt the stress of Finals week as though was there ..It took me back to my High school and University days...Those two weeks are always minor hell on earth .. That being said ..am glad the 3 musketeers have resolved everything .. Thank you!
