Personally what I got from this chapter was not far from your observations....I think it was @Cane23 who hinted at some sort of hidden rivalry between Alexander and Brad. This chapter somewhat drives his point home...Am starting to think they really did not like each other but were stuck with each other more like...Good thing @Laura S. Fox is working on this story so we will eventually get a resolution. Though I must admit am becoming restless that have considered to become active on Patreon 🤭

The structure actually makes it better...like it adds depth to the characters...personally when am reading...I always read the previous and current chapter .that way can pick up those hints you told us...

Well ..guess you decided you are done with subtlety after all.😂... This chapter is just so epic ...you managed to lay it all bare without being loud about it..At least for me. The interaction between the 3 friends at the end of this chapter was so revealing . I almost feel sorry for Lyn that he was/is unable to notice the palpable tension between Brad and Alexander!. You have really gone and done it @Laura S. Fox. This chapter was such a treasure trove of pleasantries and folks putting on well constructed facades!.. Thank you!

Personally am invested....doesn't matter whether it's random or constant😉..I always look forward to the 'Jeff Burton has added a chapter' notifications in my email... I know have said this before and it's almost becoming a chorus....but this story is just something else...Usually stories here are about the human condition(relationships, flawed,broken characters and family dynamics)..Your story is a combination of spices so to speak..Its world building so far is phenomenal and am inclined to believe it is going to become better and more complex!. A compelling and adorable young protagonist in Josh. Don't even get me started on the supporting characters(Rodney,Natalie, the Kincaids)😉.The cloak and dagger aspect..the sci-fi elements. All mashing together to form one marvelous literary soup. What I like most however is the structure of the story ..Giving us different POVs(Josh and the other characters). It grounds us.Makes us feel as though we are privy to what is happening in this world.Like we are on the periphery and yet still part of the action. Thank you!

This chapter,especially the hospital encounter,had Bourne Identity vibes all over it and I for one immensely loved it 😉...Do I have permission to think our young hero is a mix of Jason Bourne and Alex Rider?😂😂.. I was mostly referring to Danae's mindset ...I come from Uganda,East Africa . My country is riddled with corruption and nepotism but even then we do not have it as bad. When was still in school(Primary to Secondary/High), school uniform was and is still mandatory countrywide so there was/is a semblance of equality. You only got to know one was from a wealthy family(the cars) during visitation days for those of us who were in boarding schools. Then at University it was only academic merit that got you into the Public Universities ,with the academically astute ones having full government sponsorship. I think have got off point😂. what was expressing in my earlier comment was that it must be soul sapping to be dismissed just on the basis of race and wealth . The most ironic is most of those folks from the supposedly 'high class' are mostly docile and inept people.

Just as was warming up to Danae....she goes and pulls that snobbish attitude 😂..I know she was raised that way but you would think that after what she has been through so far with the group she would be a little open minded. Reading stories like yours makes me wonder how people who were not of aristocratic stock endured such treatment in places(Europe and the like) where there was aristocracy. It has to suck pretty bad to be dismissed on the basis of your lineage. Thank you for the offering as usual...can't wait long enough till next Thursday.haha
