  1. Indeed ..that was diving straight into the abyss with no way back...I was like this time CW will have to give me a pass..eh๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Yes..though personally for me the first books were easy to read.Like you did not to need to make deep incisions into the characters to understand their psyche. I remember the first CW book I read was Brother-in-law and I did not need to re-read the chapters ..It was a straight forward case study of teenage angst and sexual identity crisis...the books just got more cerebral and, am inclined to add darker , with each new offering. Of his works, I deem Wayward brothers the darkest that I had to stay away from my for hours ...just to cleanse my mind after reading those chapters....
  3. Yet another chapter and with it another clue indeed.. I appreciate the warning you gave us..Each time I read a new chapter..go back and read from the beginning ..just to understand the hints better๐Ÿ˜€..Blame the scientist in me....we are detail oriented after all.haha If you do not mind me asking...is this going to be long read like some of your other works?..I mean the 30+ chapters ? Thank you!
  4. Between you and Cane23, don't know who to thank more for giving me the impetus to widen my scope of reading!. I have always steered clear of anything dealing with psychology but lately finding myself reading more about Psychology..Imagine have even started reading up on Freud and Jung...I always consigned such literature in the box titled 'Too cerebral for my taste'...Thanks you too am now trying to catch up!๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€
  5. My.oh.My!. Confession time...I have had to re-read the last part of this chapter four times...Daisy Bell,Marla June and Cash are just so perceptive . And Cash.!..I do not even know what to say...that's literally like the biblical David-Jonathan friendship...the connection those two share is just so profound and beautiful!. You really have a knack for creating young protagonists who are just in tune with their emotions..From Damien,Oliver,Caleb,Oscar and now Jackson..Guys who display emotional restraint better than folks who are older than them. I am really running out of superlatives to describe how good you are with each new entry in your writing ...It's just so beautiful to behold. Thank you!...Thank you!
  6. Me too..I don't know why but I have always liked the Netherlands..
  7. I actually agree with you..Bobby, was young, and as equally damaged as Adrian. Nick,on the other hand does not get off easy. He liked the dynamics of their relationship. He liked it because felt powerful that Adrian would meet other guys but would always come back to him in the end. I am inclined to say he is actually, if not more manipulative than Adrian. He fed on the beast that was Adrian's insecurity so to speak.
  8. I agree with you about Adrian...but what I have really liked most about this work is the way@ CasualWanderer82 has presented him. I personally like the way Adrian is 'presented' as the villain in the first chapters. The first chapters are mostly seen from Nick's perspective and as such they present Adrian in a really dark hue.You get to like Nick from the go and later on Bobby. It's only after the 'Five years later' chapter of Adrian at the therapist's session that you begin to get a glimpse of the broken, low self esteem Adrian .That's when you realize that he is a man who has hidden behind a mask of domination and casual cruelty. He is just a man who grew up being told he is not good enough, that he will never amount to much, one who was never shown love by those who should have loved him.So he conditioned himself to never feel or care .He,as usually is the case of emotional abuse victims, made himself impervious to emotion of any sort as a way of never getting hurt again. It did not help that he got with Nick(who in my opinion had a part to play in the disasters that followed) who was emotionally mature, who he must have subconsciously used as a mirror against himself . I agree with you... CasualWanderer82 really outdid himself with this book...should I dare say that the actual main character of this book is really Adrian?๐Ÿ˜€..

    Chapter 10

You are going to make me go insane with anxiety๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜€...Now have to anxiously wait for the next chapter for resolution to this ending . Thank you for the update!
  10. That's two chapters in a row now...Now it all makes sense...Adrian is really broken..His family really did a number on him..No child can ever heal from that sort of emotional absence and abuse from the ones who are supposed to care for them. I have read almost all your books here..the tragic characters..and I must declare Adrian is among the most broken of the tragic characters...he is in that pantheon with Lorenzo and Nathan from Man up... I have a feeling we are almost reaching our final destination...but this tale you have crafted. I find myself bereft on words to describe the feelings this book has invoked on me..That is testament of how good you have become with each new book you write.. Thank you for blessing us with your writing ..I for one am all for it... Blessed day!
  11. That was super intense ...eh...
  12. I had a feeling that was the case...

    "4th Of July"

No way!...you had to go and mention Steel Magnolias ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‰
  14. I know...good thing you gave us a hint in some chapter that he finally realized he needed to work on himself. If you do not mind me asking....well I am curious๐Ÿ˜‰.. actually. When you set out to write...do you write all the chapters at once and then post a chapter at a time...or you post as you write..the way they do do for serial dramas on tv?

    Chapter 9

Short and yet so moving!.thank you
  16. I had not considered that aspect of it..but I remember a few chapters back Nick had an epiphany that he liked fueling Adrian's beast mood. So you could say all of them are deeply flawed beings...the 3 of them fed off each other's darkness so to speak...Only difference is Adrian, till now, had not had his 'awakening'... As for the 5 year separation...i think it has something to do with the inevitable confrontation that is coming with Adrian,Nick and Bobby after his finding them. we shall just have to wait for the pied piper to play his flute..so to speak๐Ÿ˜€
  17. Will be here dutifully waiting as usual ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜€
  18. Poor Adrian...I cannot believe am saying this...That last scene of him alone ..felt so pitiful. I almost shed a tear for him...nothing sucks more like being alone..
  19. I got the subtlety earlier @Cane23...I have a feeling this is going to be another case study in psychology ..Hopefully you will be around to give your famous detailed analysis ๐Ÿ˜œ
  20. Question is who will be railing who when it comes down to it?..lol...judging by this chapter...me thinks ' I don't bottom's will be tested before long.
  21. I agree with you ...I have my theory as to why he has never meshed with Alexander... Laura did after all warn us that Lyn is an unreliable narrator from the beginning!..This chapter has given us a hint of that.

    Chapter 2

That tells you how bad it is ..if Rezak is considered moderately cruel๐Ÿ˜€
  23. I guess Jamie now understands that all choices one makes in life have consequences.I remember thinking that he was in self denial about his online gig being detrimental to his dream music career. That nobody would ever take him serious..they would always see a porn actor. Now at least he knows what is at stake! Thank you for the update!
