Riley is fantastic. This is an interesting side of Ben that we did not get before. The photo album was most interesting.

What a crushing blow. To have been raised to believe you were the next leader of the pack, then to be told, you’re not really it. Hopefully he survives the gunshot. And what is Austin’s role? Is he a wolf too?

It seems like this time is good with his parents going over the script with Sky. Giving him insight to the character and the role. He may not have received this advice if they had been working.

Sev is a tortured boy, being led by an evil father, who is completely manipulating him for his own uses without any regard to his son. similar to what he did with his daughter in the prior book. At least he feels that he will not kill Ember. I think if he did that even if Trillion didn’t know that Trillion would not go with him on the mission. Hopefully the bond is strong enough now that it will make the ceremony whatever it is that Zareth wants not work.

Sev actually helped in this battle. So there’s a split loyalty. It may not be as easy for him to betray his friend as he thought. How did the Helmsfirth scouts find them? Trillion now realizes how important they’re bond is, maybe?

And there it is. Sev was sent by Zareth… the song is interesting about mixed loyalties of one on the journey. There is also another who will be coming that is not already a part of the group. I wonder if Sev is going to try to hurt Ember along the pass? Plenty of opportunity, the water with the time loop, the stone monster?
