  1. Well, I don't know much about Japanese culture. But from the little I know, they seem to be different things. For me, Samurais are the noble warriors, out in the field of the war fighting under huge metal armours. But Ninjas are the stealthy assassins working in the shadows of the night, quick and deadly. (Please don't consider this as reference. These are just my opinions.) So are you asking this for a story? I don't think it's a good idea to write about Samurais or Ninjas because people like them better. Like Michael said, it all depends on your plot and characters. If I have to pick one, I'll go with Ninjas. (Though I love the sword-fighting style of Japanese Samurais.) Cheers Ieshwar

  4. The last bit... story of my life. I spent five hours (from 1 am till 6 am) on Youtube waiting Britain Got Talent. I was supposed to finish my projects. I hate myself.

    Chapter 7

It's a real pity that I can like this chapter just once. *sigh* It's a great chapter, by the way. Dan is so cute. I want to hug him and squeeze him so tight. Lol. You have a nice set of characters- the innocent protagonist, the gay guru and the straight crush. Nice... Chris is obviously acting as a mentor to Dan. He had experiences and he's trying to help his friend. It's noble. But I see that even he doesn't know everything. He's just a teen after all and his experiences seem to be just one kind. (i'm referring to the part where he says that making love is fake) But then, his views represent what is the reality of the majority of gays. True. Sad. Anyway, the gay dating site thing was very well done. I like how you kept it real. And how you inserted some humour in there. That's what I love about this story. It's so real. I feel like re-living my teens. Lol. Thanks for sharing.

    Chapter 6

An amazing closure to the first part. What I loved was how real it seems, especially the first part. As someone who had been very introvert during my teens, I could identify with most parts. Very said, true, but well-written also. Glad that he came out. He's healing. As in the paranoia inside him, it's changing. It's good. So when's the part two coming?
  7. Happy Birthday. Hope that you have lots of fun. Cheers Ieshwar

    This is not a date!

Great chapter. Glad to see more of Michael, at least with him being sober. Lol. I LOVE Asher's room- all those mismatched things of different kinds and especially that bookcase as a wall! I would love to have a room like that. I really like the way you blend the descriptions in the narration. They don't bog down the flow of the story. Instead, they bring a punch to what's being said. You did that with the bar in the first chapter and then the corporate world in the second chapter. And now with Asher's room. Really very well done. Btw, it's going to be long dinner. It starts this week and will end the next week... (my attempt of humour. Lol) And congrats on being Promising. You totally deserve it.
  9. I have never worked in writing groups. I normally avoid doing so because my own writing habits are very erratic. I don't commit to anything, especially if it involves someone else's work too. Working with someone different is good- you get to learn stuff. Working with someone too different can only lead to incompatibility issues. Who you are working with is something to consider, I think. By the way, I love the last paragraph. Very true! And very well-said. Great article, Libby. Thanks for the share.
  10. And as we also found out, Nerimon is in fact FishWings alter ego. Since we are already talking about Twilight. Reasons Pro-Twilight: Shirtless Taylor Lautner. Reasons Anti-Twilight: Well, pretty much everything else. Though I think the first movie was watchable. The second was beyond awful. The third was "meh". Never bothered with the fourth and fifth. Cheers Ieshwar
  11. This looks very interesting. Will surely give it a read whenever I have some time to spare... or procrastinate. Great review, LJH.
  12. Yes, I believe that the core of this story is indeed the emotion, one of utter love without any limits or barrier (even death). That's what I wanted to evoke. Glad that I could. I'm honored that it made you think of something as beautiful as Titanic. Thanks for the review, Louis.
  13. Thank you for the review, Rob. I always try to experiment with the story telling. Sometimes, I work with flashback (playing with the chronological order) or inserting a story in another story. It's fun because you learn what works and what not. I know that the flashback sometimes disrupts the flow of the actual story. But it's something I wanted to try. Thanks again for this honest review.

    Déja Vu

That's it? It's so short... I love the descriptions at the start of the chapter. You take great care of telling us about this corporate world. It's very interesting and creates the perfect setting. Your way of telling is too, with the soft dark humour, is awesome. I was already in love with Asher since the first chapter. And Michael, he's so mysterious... Would love to know more about him or see him when he's sober. Lol. One more week to go till the next chapter...
  15. Difficult not to go 'Awwww' at the end. Very nice...
  16. Not a big fan of the Hunger Games series. I watched the first film and find it good, not exceptional but good. The trailer looks really nice though. Will surely give it a try. Looking forward to the scene where Katniss reveals the mockingjay costume. Cheers Ieshwar
  17. The commercial is really cool! I loved it. I was born in 1989, so I don't know much about 80's. It sounds great though. Cheers Ieshwar
  18. Okay, it's creepy. Got a headache because it is kind of annoying. But I don't think it's true. Here's the story in the description. Sounds creepy but fake. But it would make a good horror story. It would have got a "like" from me if it was here at GA. Story. Anyway, thanks for the share. Cheers Ieshwar
  19. That's totally awesome. Congrats!
  20. I haven't read the book. I've watched the cartoon though. But nevertheless, it was very enjoyable. Thanks.
  21. My top three: Friends Friends Friends I've watched it so many times that all the cds are scratched and some episodes don't play. I need to get another copy. Glee and HIMYM get special mentions.
  22. Reading any favourite book/story Watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S Writing Talking to someone
  23. Maybe you could try some yoga breathing exercises to relax while in bed. It helps to clear your mind. I haven't actually used it myself to sleep but my boyfriend does and it works for him. Worth a shot. Cheers Ieshwar
  24. I don't know. The last time I tried to download it on my phone, it was "Hardware Incompatible". Seriously, I never had any sense of Gaydar. Looking at the responses, I wonder if it's not a myth... Cheers Ieshwar
  25. It's a really interesting plot. The first advice I can give you is that you need to know a bit more about this world you're creating. Given that it is fantasy/sci-fic, it's your world. How is it? How will this develop? Maybe you should spend some time "roaming" this world and "talking" to your characters. I don't know if any other author does that but I do. (It sounds crazy but I was never sane to start with. ) And maybe you could base this fictional world on something real. Try to do some research about gays in very conservative societies and try to relate it to your world. Or research on gays in some period of time a few centuries ago where homosexuality was taboo. Just my few opinions. Hope it helps. Cheers Ieshwar
