Amethyst is the birthstone for February, and due to its purple color it is often associated with royalty. Remember, in the U.S. Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan all had February birthdates.

When I was a teenager, I remember one of the biggest selling points in watches were the ones with quartz crystals. It was something new, and of course a big deal.

You're wrong about one thing, when you say he transitioned into something he'd never seen before. If you remember back to his freshman year in college when they were trying to figure out a way to cope with their noisy neighbors. He went with Devin to follow them out to a remote location where Devin transitioned into Bigfoot so they could film them. He even gave Mac a demonstration about what he'd transitioned into, as well as being able to see the videos that their neighbors took of Bigfoot. However, I agree, he's proved to be very talented so far.

Cliffhangers make sure you keep coming back for more. 😈 And as far as if this is an evil skinwalker, it's a valid assumption, and so is the idea that the shaman is testing them, but you'll have to read the next chapter to find out for sure.

All of Andy Weir's books are interesting. The Martian, Project Hail Mary, and Artemis. Each one different, but each one is five-star plus two.

Knowing he had a limited amount of time to find his old man, since he'd combined his sick leave and personal time together, it was an odd choice to take this adventure in the first place. However, it proved to be an interesting story, especially the dream sequence, but you left me hanging. I need a conclusion. I have to know if Harlon found his father, if his father could understand the message, and if the old man had a response for Harlon's mother. Then, I'd want to know about Harlon's trip back home and how his mother reacted to what had happened, if she was still alive. So, Carl, after your operation, and I wish you all on the best during that period, but Carl, you've got some 'splainin' and writin' to do after you recover.

If you enjoy Science Fiction, and especially if you've read and enjoyed Andy Weir's book Project Hail Mary, then this is a must read for you. Aaron Stone has opened us up to a fantastical universe of different creatures, and although I was skeptical at first that he was going to be able to pull it off, he did an outstanding job of making me believe in everything he presented. This is a truly wondrous journey and you won't want to miss reading this intriguing short story.

A truly fascinating story and you successfully brought all of the races to life. The interaction between Rohm and Aeri reminded me of Andy Weir's book Project Hail Mary where he had a human interact with a totally different and unusual species. A job well done. Kudos!

Yes, being around Devin's family has really helped him to understand a great deal about being a skinwalker, yet he's still smart and observant enough to ask questions about the things that he doesn't understand. I'm glad you're enjoying this story.

You'll get drawn into this unusual universe of intrigue and quickly form a strong attachment to the two main characters, Mark and Allan. In fact, when you reach the end of this short story, it's going to leave you wanting more. If you're looking for a sci-fi mystery, thriller, then you need to check out this story.

It's no fair ending the story in a cliffhanger on an anthology. You're cruel. Not only were we worried about Thad, but did Evan put himself in danger trying to help Thad? An interesting world you've created, drsawzall.

Thank you for this emotional and moving story. I was riveted to it and couldn't stop reading. In fact, I felt some of Robert's guilt, since I've lost touch with my brother who's eight years younger than me. We've never had a lot in common, except for family and being brothers, but when I moved to GA it widened that gap, because we no longer saw each other at family gatherings. You just might have pushed me into ending that long disconnect, so I don't end up feeling like Robert did, now that he's regretting all the years he didn't get to know Jamie better.

I'm not sure where she went to, but she's left the nursing home because she fears they might abolish her next. Thanks again for being so supportive. -
Ok, maybe not huge, but it's larger than I'd want to deal with. I can understand why the guy was being so careful handling it, since it's suppose to be so venomous, but I hope that this he took out at the beginning wasn't an egg sac.

Thanks for the feedback Danilo. Yes, it wasn't as scary as the other stories, except for what the aunt had done to her brother and his family, or that she attacked Hayden with the axe. The primary focus of this story was resolving the situation of the little girl ghost and helping her out. Again, thank you for the feedback. -

You're right, if the Aunt entered the light she would definitely be experiencing a much warmer environment, so she has the choice of doing that or remaining all alone where she is.
