  1. Atomic Energy Lab: Everything the budding terrorist will need to learn how to build a dirty bomb and much, much, more.
  2. Do they put a condom over it when it rains?
  3. Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad I inspired you. It would be terrific if people would respond to others in need, as long as they were only responding with positive thoughts and actions. Unfortunately, recent history has proven that those responses aren't always positive in nature. I will still keep hoping, however.

    Chapter 1

How true that is. I know, because I've been dealing with that problem for a number of years now, and it isn't getting any easier.
  5. A term I haven't heard in years. When I was younger, my grandfather told me he'd grown up in a jerkwater town. lol
  6. I thought I was in a time warp for a second. Were we back in the 1950s with 45 cent tickets" lol
  7. What does the baby computer call his father? Data. Did you hear about the dad who invented the knock-knock joke? He won the 'no-bell' prize.
  8. Two dads walked into a bar. The third dad ducked. Why do dads carry an extra pair of socks when they go golfing? In case they get a hole-in-one.
  9. If General McArthur had a little more foresight during World War II, instead of saying "I shall return," he could have more memorably said "I'll be back."
  10. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with your reference to "The Stand", so I'll have to check that out, but I'm glad that you enjoyed the story.
  11. Yes, those Druids were/are real capitalists.
  12. Steve, another saying from your neck of the woods is October snow showers bring out the plowers. But that could be true for any of several months in Canada.
  13. Can you imagine spending 70 years at any job? Couldn't she have retired or abdicated years ago? Even Pope Benedict opted out early. Something tells me she really doesn't want Charles to become king.
  14. Knights in White Satin is a golden oldie that brings back a lot of interesting memories. The things I was doing while that song was playing in the background - oh my!

    Epilogue

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. In the future, don't be shy about leaving a chapter comment or using one of the emojis to let me know how you feel about the chapters as your reading them. It helps me get a feeling of what works best when I'm writing my next story. Thanks again.

Yes, I agree. I had a cousin I was close to whose wife had MS, so this was personal for me as well. I'm glad you are enjoying this story.
  17. Ok, I must have just missed it then, because I first posted Mental Games in the middle of June 2016,
  18. I published a story titled Finding Love back in 2010, and then today I see that Ajbt2001 published a story with the same title. Are we now able to reuse title names now? Back when I published Mental Games I had wanted to call it Mind Games, but the system wouldn't let me because there was already a short story posted with the same name. Has this changed and we're now able to post stories with the same title on the system? Just curious.
  19. Congratulations, Aaron. A well deserved achievement.
  20. There are more thing in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Wm. Shakespeare
  21. A lot of the accomplishments of Ancient Technologies were lost during the Dark Ages. Skeletal remains of gladiators' skeletons prove that the Romans had very advanced medical practices for the times, including successful brain surgery. This can be seen in that the skulls actually showed healing after the injury and surgery. There are also the engineering accomplishments of the Romans, such as running water and a city-wide sewage system and the famed Roman baths. Much was also lost when the library at Alexandria burned, including many of the drawings for Archimedes inventions, including the possibility of some that we never learned about. A French engineer has also postulated that the ramps for the pyramids were internal, not external, to the structure. Then there's the Bagdad battery, as well as the image of what might be a giant lightbulb drawn on the walls of an Egyptian Temple. How much more was lost that we had to rediscover or reinvent later? And did the ancients come up with all of those ideas on their own, or did they have help? And will we ever know?
  22. Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. It took a lot of planning, time, and effort to put it together, so I'm pleased it paid off.
  23. Does anyone know what has happened with Andy78. I haven't seen any posts or stories from him in ages. I know he was having health problems when he was helping me with a story, but then we lost touch. I'd sure like to know if he's ok, if anyone has that information.
  24. Isn't it amazing that after all the years since Roswell the government is finally making this type of investigation public? BTW, did you see some of the hearing and get a glimpse of the triangular UAPs that kept blinking in and out on the screen? I thought that alone was amazing, in addition to the objects that were maneuvering in ways that the military said would be impossible for a human pilot because of the tremendous G-forces involved. Is ET about to identify himself or is ET merely phoning home with the information about us?
  25. More calamity than the world has already been experience?
