Unfortunately, I don't see things changing right away unless one of two things happen. One, either the players will have to refuse to play, citing potential hazardous conditions with the replacement refs, or two, the fans have to stay away until the regular refs are brought back. The owners are only going to respond when it hits them where it hurts - in the wallets.
I love the Falling Skies series. Great drama in a sci-fi theme. I can't wait to see how this works out after the Mass unit was treated so poorly by the so called civilian authorities.
Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed this story. Even though you had the feeling this might be autobiographical, it was mostly fiction, although a few parts were based on the lives of others.
I'm sorry you didn't like the history lessons and I can understand your POV, but they have actually drawn a lot of constructive praise from readers, both on this site and others that I post on.
Thank you very much for the feedback.
I'm not sure if that means you liked it or hated it. It was a twist that I was hoping people wouldn't foresee, but I hope that didn't make you dislike the story.
Andy, very well done. I really enjoyed your story, but I loved the surprise turnaround after the near disaster. For a minute, I wondered if it was James who had stopped it from happening, even though it would have been tough considering his size, but the face that it was Jake was not only more surprising, but more gratifying as well.
In interesting follow-up to your previous story. He decided that the violence and retrobution had to stop sometime - yet it didn't actually end. Nice touch.
Mike, this turned out to be a lovely coming out story, in that both sets of parents seemed to understand and approve. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen often enough.
Yes, we all felt bad for Hoover, but might be even sadder is people who are incapable of taking responsibility for their own lives. Thanks for the feedback, Yetti One.
