I am glad that the URPS was willing to step in and try to mediate the situation. That said; I can not see three of the permanent members of the security council ever agreeing to give up their advantages. China, Russia, and to a lesser extent the US have used their position on that body as both a hammer to attack other members and as a shield to prevent their actions from being effected by outside observers.

Excellent start to this story; I just found that there were additional books to the first story and am reading them now. Can't say that I am surprised about the fact that squabbling on Earth would follow out into space. Humans are in general incapable of getting along; I truly think there is something genetically wrong with large portions of the population of Earth. The need to try and get something over on the URPS was just the start and the attack by one group against the other will only get worse; I do hope that I am wrong but...

Really enjoyed this story, the writing and story development was good. I did feel that the lack of backstory and history made it harder to get into the story. If viewed strictly as a story that started and ended in the time frame written, we knew what was going on and why; but I felt little niggle pieces of having missed something because we just did not truly understand what drove these intrepid adventurers forward into space. While the characters were interesting; I did not feel that the development of any of them were complete. There seemed to be little change from the first time we meet them until the story was over. And we had no history at all of the world that they came upon in their exploration; and a surprise elevation came out of no where and felt like it was done just to shake up the story. I do recommend this story but felt it could have been more with a few minor changes and some backstory added.

Great chapter; I truly am glad that Jevikel let Kemi know about their mother. Glad that he was able to tell her some of what their mother had gone through in the past; it let her know some of the reasons her mother acted as she did, if not all of them. Kadin strikes me as a green rider; while Jevikel seems to be destined for a brown or bronze. Jevikel just seems so much more thoughtful and full of ideas and the ability to lead. Although you never know, the dragon chooses the right one for them. I don't think that Kemi realizes from what Jevikel said that there was anything strange about Jemina's death; but I still hate the idea that Vikkel killed her and got away with it; and yes, I am sure he did...

Nothing like a good tragic event to bring the grumpy around; especially when he gets a skybox view of things. Maybe this will help Colin; he will realize what a lucky escape he had from Jenny all those years ago, and maybe won't be so sour on life from now on. Terry, Colin, and Howard sneaking around made the thought of the Little Rascals from those serials in the 30's pop into my head. Mischievous little boys doing something naughty. Glad that Terry was so good to Sylvia. I doubt she believed that anything bad was ever going to happen, even after she began to have suspicions. Plus, doubt she realized how deep Brenda was in it until she confessed to her after they killed Maurice. I, like others, do think it will turn out to be Trevor in the well. Jenny was probably the brains of the operation and only used him to get whatever they got and then disposed of him; then had Jack disposed of after she and Trevor supposedly left. Just so well done.

Chapter 19: Baltimore Business
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 19: Baltimore Business
What an easy breezy chapter; but just under the surface... So glad that Heather is joining this pack; having a vampire around will have some definite advantages. I do like how Dirk and Ingle are taking their time getting to know each other in animal form, easier for each other to read. Can't wait to see Vincent and Grumpy in action; such an interesting duo. Vincent will learn alot about what it takes to be a good auditor from Grumpy. I do have a feeling that this first audit may prove a little interesting, either the audit itself or activity in the area. Glad that Dave and Stacy are moving forward, hope the transition goes well for Stacy should she move forward at this time. But they need to make sure they are both on the same schedule and same page. Caleb and Tasha seem to be good; and would not mind a visit or two from Lowe. Great chapter and can't wait to see what happens next.- 29 comments

Oh Hell to the No... There is no way that any charity that this family set up is a sham. If there is something going on that is wrong; heaven help those that fucked it up because the full fury of a member of the family is going to come down like lightening on them from the heavens. This was a good chapter; fun and until the very end pretty upbeat. Loved that Will and Bongo could just have an encounter without it meaning anything more than it was, especially since Bongo's girlfriend decided to try and stay with him. Hmmm, Bongo plays the drums and who is looking for a drummer? Too funny when Will reminded Ryan that they had sex; and Marie and John both thought is was so funny, until they got that look from Will that said, " Remember When". Glad that Will has people like this in his past and in his future. They will always have each others backs. Will's advice to John will probably work; and Marie and probably Will will have to defend themselves from Claire and Jack both, just hope they are ready for the return fire. Brad and Jake seem to be getting incrementally better; I do hope that Jake realizes the danger, not just to their relationship but to himself in allowing him to get pulled back into the battlefield so to speak. This family has enemies that would be more than willing to strike at him to get to Brad and the family. Can't wait to see what the issue is with the charity; if it is too severe, Will can just turn Stef and JP loose on them. Bravo, Mark, truly Bravo...

A great chapter; both Jevikel and Kadin are getting the lay of the land, so to speak. Glad that Bavi is going to be there foster mother; she will make sure that they are remembered when it comes time to search. This story is just flowing so well and the writing is truly first rate. I know this story is heading toward it's conclusion but I truly hope you continue the saga for a long time to come. There is just so many ways to move forward and so much that you can continue to do with it; truly hope you are enjoying writing this as much as the rest of us are reading it.

WOW, my muscles hurt I was so tense throughout this chapter. Terry handled himself with such aplomb in dealing with it all. And to actually know something was wrong and still go; he truly must love Dan. Glad Cynthia was quick on her feet as well; telling the police that a robbery was in progress was guaranteed to get a quick response. It must be Trevor down in the well. So, he obviously never made it to Australia; I wonder what went wrong between him and Jenny? The muscle will crack rapidly or stay totally silent depending on if he is just hired help or more deeply involved. Jenny must have spent her life involved in crime in one way or another. Hope the police give them all the whole story; do hope that Sylvia and to a lesser extent Brenda were not really involved. The writing in this chapter was just truly first rate. The evocation of tension was done just so well; and it just flowed beautifully.

Chapter 18: First Fling
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 18: First Fling
OMFG, I have to go take a shower. First half of the chapter was just hot hot hot; but the second half was even better. Dirk and Ingle are going to learn how to care about each other, how to take each other for what they are, and how to truly love each other. I am so glad that Aliz decided to help them. I am so excited that Dirk got this bear back and was able to change; and what the hell, a full size bear on fire but not being burned; talk about a throw a twist in any challenge... So well done.- 33 comments

Will and Bongo were both just too funny throughout the whole chapter. I did really like how it played out. Brad and Jake have got to get there shit together. I swear they just cannot communicate with each other unless someone else it there to either instigate it or keep it from getting out of hand. Love how Brad got so pissy about Will giving Chris a lower score then he did; and kudos to Brad for dumping Dustin's number out of his phone after hearing how he acted. I do wish Will wasn't as dismissive about JJ, even silently as he is. So well written as always; and this was flowed exceptionally well, plus the humor was just spot on and that isn't always easy to pull off.

Anit, Eren, and all the rest need to realize that there is someone or something else at work. Someone has spent way to much time and energy making sure their is division between the Septum and the Inner Clan Court; as well as more personal divisions between members of each side. Tani and Dante are so delicious together; but I guess because of the long history also a sense of melancholy that ever so slightly is always in the air. I wish they could wash it away like a great rainstorm does the pollen. Flowed so wonderfully and the writing just keeps getting better every chapter. Can't wait for the next update.

Sorry, but Parker must be considerably more dense than I ever imagined. Anyone with half a brain would have realized that Mr. Nettleman and the school administration as a whole are looking for anything to strike back at him. He should have known taking that length of time was going to get him in trouble if he got caught; and the way they are watching him, he was going to get caught. Well, did love the lunch at Charley's. A few new interesting characters; hope we see more of them. It is hard being that age and not sure how out you can be; Myles may have made the decision to be so out that he never gets questioned, but it has it's own issues. Being gay in the black community has a whole different set of issues; honestly it is much hard than in the white community. Excellent flow to the chapter; can't wait to see what happens next.

Wonderful update; and so exciting that Kemi got to go south like that. Jevikel needs to tell her soon about her mother; don't want her to feel as if he is keeping secrets. So glad that Jevikel felt comfortable announcing how he felt about Kadin to B'dant. They both need to get comfortable with the old timers, if they get chosen then they will have one as weyrlingmaster. Jevikel and Kadin need to get into the flow of the weyr; but don't forget where they came from and what they mean to each other. Great writing and flowed so well; can't wait for the next update.

WOW, so much going on in this chapter. Tani and Dante are actually making inroads into their feelings for each other; let's all hope it keeps up. Dante needs to explain what Tani truly means to him now. Cannot believe Anit behaved like that; I know she is a goddess but still. At some point she is going to have to accept that children make their own decisions; seems like she cannot accept Tani's. I know that his initial one has lead to a thousand years of pain, but in the end it may prove to be the right one. Anit needs to take the situation that Eren is dealing with more seriously. The fact the kara ot was so massive in the mortal realm is telling. The situation with someone coming and going and bringing it to fruition must be dealt with. Anit may be a goddess; but she needs to grow up some. Chapter flowed beautifully; and the feeling evoked by the writing was so strong.

Yikes, this warning from Sylvia of all people really shook both Terry and myself. I doubt that she actually was involved in anything but obviously knows more than she is telling. And of course, covering up a crime is a crime in and of itself. I wonder if with Maurice's death will Brenda open up to either the police or Terry; or will she simply bury the past deeper still. I am becoming more convinced that the construction issues are the key to all of this. I have talked to a couple of people that are in that trade and they say unless those involved in the issue with the well were in on it; you would never have been able to just toss a body down there and not had anyone find it. More More More; and what do you think about twice a week postings....

“I’m good,” he said, and was so convincing I believed him. “Let’s hit the waves.” This worries me; someone will have to be watching Brad for a while, even if covertly, especially is Jake does leave. Great chapter and flowed beautifully, I do worry about Will taking to much onto his plate, but he seems to be in a good place right now.

Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
I just am damn near speechless. I could actually see Dirk and Ingle working as destined mates; both are sure enough in their own masculinity that I am not sure the sex will really be the issue; that can be figured out as they open up with each other. The real issue will be how they deal with others and how others deal with them. I am so glad Dirk's bear is back; but meeting his destined mate would be enough of a shock to bring him out of hibernation. Aliz interfered, Why??? Are Dirk and Ingle pivotal to the coming fight? So many questions, but I do expect to need a cold shower after reading the next chapter... -
Lukodan was nice to both showing them around. Growing up in the weyr; he was a good choice, plus he seems confident in himself in a good way. Jevikel and Kadin received way more information then they will be able to fully remember but it gave them a complete overview of the weyr in general. Do hope they don't pick up Lukodan's and some of the other's issues with the old-timer's or the green dragons; it may make the coming issues harder to deal with in some ways. Although they do not realize it yet; they have meet the person that will mean so much to them for the next few turns. So glad that they found Kemi and that she is doing okay. Soon everyone will know the story of their rescue and that will help them integrate into the weyr in some ways. I hope that Jevikel and Kadin talk to each other if they have questions about what is going on; communication is key and it will help each of them be sure of the other and their place in each other's lives.

Being in my mid 50's; I have more than once in my life walked into a place and been the only middle class white man in the place; usually a jazz or blues club but a couple of times BBQ joints in small southern towns. I never had any problems, except once with a guy that was either drunk or high, and was promptly rescued by others in the establishment. Parker is going to find out how few real friends he probably has; it is hard when you are in your teens to rock the boat and do anything that you believe will drive your friends away from you. Natalie is right though, he is going to have to stand up for himself in order to stand up for Darius. Chapter flowed really well, and the writing has just been spot on.

Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
Oh, Hell to the NO... I would never have seen that coming, Dirk and Ingle??? WOW. Loved how Tasha reacted, until her father apologizes to Caleb, he will get nothing from her. Vincent and Mason are just too cute. I loved the conversation between Vincent and his wolf; that is just so well done. Tierney keeps stepping in to not only try and help Heather, but to help resolve the issue with her coven. Why would they be acting like this; if a member went rogue, it would be a disaster for all. Can't wait for the next update.- 33 comments

A wonderful chapter and a true delight to get this update. Another ship for Granger to right and a new crew for him to work into shape; and a new officer to.... Granger's insights on the Tsar are spot on; let us hope the new British ambassador is able to put them to good use. Granger is always unhappy when his people are discombobulated. This may not have been Caroline's fault, but she should know his feelings and I hope did something to make sure they were taken care of, if not, Granger will do so. A Regency is coming; and all the turmoil that it will entail. I see trouble between Freddie and Granger as a state that will exist for a very long time; but the real battle royal will be Caroline and Davina; and nothing short of a lethal duel will ever end that fight. Thank you so much for this treat; can't wait for the next update.

A truly remarkable chapter; the writing and pacing were so well done. I know it is strange; but truly had to stop and have a little cry about Maurice. Alzheimer's is a truly devastating condition; I am sure that whomever killed Maurice was afraid that he would start saying something without realizing what he was telling everyone, they felt he had to be shut up. Terry was right not to tell Sylvia immediately that it was Maurice; it would have been harder on her to see him laying in the street like that. Terry is going to get the third degree from the police moving forward. He really should have at least made a report about the first message. OMG, this story is just too good.

What a truly wonderfully constructed chapter; the writing and pacing were so perfect. Brad is not going to have an easy time of it; doing that much tina and for several days in a row is enough to truly throw your whole system off. Modafinil is not a cure all; and the side effects can be horrible. I am really surprised that with everything that Brad and Robbie went through and how much they had to work on their relationship that Brad was not willing to put the same work in with Jake. Jake simply does not understand the level of betrayal that Brad felt about his actions; but it doesn't sound like Brad really took time to try and explain it. JP and Stef, with Will's translations, really had some important things to say. I hope that Brad and Jake both listened to them; and I hope that Brad listened to Will at the end. Love how Will handled the deal with Juan. Not everyone in his position would have even given a shit; says so much about how he was raised. Great chapter and can't wait to see were this goes next.

Well, not a completely pleasant introduction to the Weyr. They simply do not realize that D'gar was worried; not only for his rider but them, plus blaming himself for not having more people looking around the Weyr. Manora will make sure that they find a place within the weyr and find what they are best suited for in the short term; do hope they both impress. It will be a while before they feel comfortable here; but getting food and having people care for them and making sure they are safe will go a long way. Plus, they know that those in the weyr do not care that they are in a relationship. That alone should give them a sense of belonging. I do hope they find Kemi soon. Not just this story; but this whole saga is just so well done. Bravo, just truly Bravo.
