Breaking Down the Barriers
centexhairysub commented on Dahawk's story chapter in Breaking Down the Barriers
I may have to make note cards to keep everyone straight and remember some of these lines. Great Job so far... -
WOW, organized chaos; really hard to pull off but these people may do so.
-
Love Nan, and really all the rest; but what a hell of a way to introduce yourself... LOL.
-
Interesting start, and agree with others that some people should not be allowed to procreate.

Oh My Freaking God...

Sorry, but that doesn't work with JJ, at least in my mind. Yes, Carullo lost what may have been the love of his life; but JJ lost his Mother, Step-Dad, and Step-Mom. I am not sure that Carullo's loss is any more detrimental than JJ's.

WOW, what a hot but reveling chapter. Well written and the pacing was spot on, I truly care about all of these characters that you all have developed. Can't wait to see where you take it next. I do hope that we get to see more of the Librarians and Wardell; hopefully in a punishment situation.

Well, Will would never make it with a real slacker, so either Dillon is going to have to find a hidden drive or true passion about something, even surfing, if he is truly good enough, for them to make it. Will and really his whole family have a drive that they might not expect their partners to match but at least understand; and no true slacker ever would be able to do that. Dillon's issue with his eye was boring; and I was way off. I really thought it would involve more of a family issue. I do like Dillon but he seems a little boring so far; but then we just got to meet him and I can hope he proves to be more well rounded and interesting; Will needs a real partner. I just want to bitch slap Carullo so bad. I can't decide if he truly doesn't know what he wants, is that afraid to get hurt again, or what. He suffered a tragedy, but then so did so many and I doubt that his former love would have wanted him to stop living just because he died. True love wants the one left to move on and embrace life, not always easy, but it should be the idea. I hope that Carullo can decide what he wants before it is too late. I don't know that I saw him and JJ as a forever couple; although it would not take much to get me there. But like Will, JJ needs a true partner. JJ truly has a vision for fashion, obviously Mary Kate took his advice because the line that they put out was noted for the muted colors and fading effect in many of the pieces. JJ could really tear Luka up; but I don't think he will. Can't wait for the meeting between the two of them though; please Mark, let there be a meeting between the two of them... Really did love this chapter, the writing and story were excellent; but truly pissed at Carullo's behavior and Dillon's blah persona, just being pretty and surfer isn't enough... Can't wait for the next update; hope JJ is around more for a while, just tell Sharon to get over it.

I honestly can't imagine any British diplomat worth his salt; would be as dunderheaded as Whitworth. He is either in the employee of someone other than the British government or grossly incompetent. Daventry is right, his actions bordered on treason. Cavendish will get back to England and warn the government; but have to wonder how much of a delay and how many issues Dickson will put in front of him getting there in a timely manner. The gold that Granger provided should help if he has to head out on his own. Granger and Daventry will be entering the Lion's den with their trip to Russia at this time. Have to wonder if they will be in and out before the freeze or still be there when the next Czar is crowned early in the new year??? I can't truly believe that Danes would be full hardy enough to actually fire upon the British ship, in reality, they turned over much of their fleet worth having to the British when the French marched in; of course, it wasn't as simple as all that but... Another excellent chapter, Mark, can't wait for the Russian court; so much intrigue ahead...

Really enjoyed this chapter, but not enough Maria... The Texas Rangers are almost always called in on a murder like this one; especially where there could be a conflict of interest. The Texas Rangers have a very high clearance rate on murders that they investigate. Well written and can't wait for the trip to Hawaii.

Damn, I need to take a shower now... WOW, the writing was just so good.

An excellent chapter, full of so many delicious tidbits, makes me hungry for the next one coming. I do worry that Diaz will make another appearance that will cause more issues for them both, but we will see. I have never heard of anyone voluntarily leaving a plan at 40,000 feet but Jake might be a first. Can't wait for the next update.

I have to admit the idea of Brad at 19 but knowing what he knows now at that age just struck me as really funny or scary, not sure which, okay, let's go for funny. I really enjoyed this chapter. The writing and pacing were spot on as always. It is easy to see how Will and Dillon could move forward, but we really don't know much about Dillon yet. I do agree with Timothy M. that his father probably gave him the black eye, for some reason that was what popped in my head the second it was noted. Is he going to community college back home because his father would not pay for his gay son to go to Stanford? Inquiring minds want to know... Will was so cute running to change the place settings. Can't wait to see a little more of this story line. I think Jake could be really important to Brad; and maybe really good for him as well. Hope that he can get to see Jack soon and that leads to something, although, Brad was never much of a bottom, but maybe he can learn to appreciate being so with the right person. I have to thing that they are looking past the current issues a little to quickly. The government taking the property will solve one issue; but I still think there is more to come. Each new chapter of his story is like a delicious morsel that must be marinated, consumed, and digested to truly enjoy. The second and often third readings always reveal some little hidden treat. Keep up the great work, Mark.

Another excellent chapter, full of information that will move the story forward; but in what direction??? Under normal conditions you usually had until the end of November or the first few days of December before ice became an issue; but I believe from my readings that this winter, the middle of November would be the exit point for any ship heading back out to sea. Since August 1800 is all you have as the date, this gives them most of September, all of October, and the first maybe ten days in November before they have to start their return trip; depending on when they head to St Petersburg and then they arrive. Since the assassination of Czar Paul I did not happen until March of 1801; there must be something that keeps them in Russia until then. The assassination of Paul I and the assumption of the throne by Alexander I moved Russia from the French orbit to the British one. I would assume that Granger and Valiant will be spending a very cold winter in Russia... Can't wait for the next update. Great job as always, Mark.

I just want to cry... I cannot believe that Klaus or Jake either one is being this annoyingly stupid. There is such a thing as too much pride and they both seem to be suffering from this; although I am glad that Jake decided to be honest with Diaz about who he really is. Diaz reacted just about how I would have suspected. I think there will be one more confrontation between Klaus and Diaz still to come. Happy for Hans and I can see the wheels turning in this head; but not sure that is a good thing or not. Can't wait for the next update.

TC2 - Chapter 4: Rob’s First Thursday in Tampa
centexhairysub commented on Brayon's story chapter in TC2 - Chapter 4: Rob’s First Thursday in Tampa
Really enjoyed this chapter, nice to see a bond between father and son growing. Can't really understand what the maternal family's issue is; since they did not want Rob after they found out he was gay, that hasn't changed. Is there that much money involved? I could see the state trying to get past child support if the mother ever took state benefits; but don't see where the grandparents would even have the ability to request such a thing, actually talked to a friend of mine that is a lawyer and he has never heard of anything like that, at least here in Texas. Writing and pacing were both really good in this chapter, keep up the great work, can't wait to see where you go from here. -
So well done; the writing and pacing was excellent in this chapter. Seems like all the drama is just starting; can't wait to see what happens next.

Just when I think this can't get any better, it does... Wade handled everything in the aftermath with his usual aplomb. Not sure if I was Alex, I would want to stay with Elizabeth, but I a sure her compound is secure. Can't decide if Lord Preston would be better off dead or alive yet, and neither can anyone else it seems. With Elizabeth having him in her crosshairs, I would suggest a decision on that be made quickly. I do like Jake with Brad, I can't put my finger on exactly why, but I do. Brad has never been nor will he ever be one of my favorites, but I do believe that with everything he went through with losing Robbie and getting back to a good place, that he deserves to be happy. I don't think he can be happy without a partner that challenges him on some level, and I think that Jake will always do that. Would be nice if Jack is right and some of Jake's physical issues could be resolved. Could this be the end of Zach, could Dillon be someone that Will could find a common ground with and be in a open relationship with him? Just amazing as always, Happy 420 Day, and may it be joyous for all...

The Danes lost their navy, at least any ships worth having, to the British and their land to the French in the coming conflict. They simply were caught between two forces that they had no way to counter. Dickson is a bore; and Granger has no time or patience for someone like him. I thought he handled him perfectly; and there wasn't really anything that the old Admiral could do about Granger anyway, since his orders come from above the Admiral; he was really a fool to try anything to start with. I am sure that with the Flag Lieutenant listening in; that the full story will become more well known than the Admiral or even Granger will be happy with. The letters were full of new; and I am so glad that Caroline's letter reached Granger. I am sure that Caroline and others in London will soften any blow against Cavendish that his father can throw at him; I was thinking maybe a Russian Grand Duchess might be found to wed for the right reason, but I guess not... LOL. Can't wait for the next chapter, such magnificence demands a continued level of worship toward this stunning achievement...

I honestly hope everything works our for Dennis and his father. Have to wonder if whomever got to Jones did so as punishment or to shut him up; since someone was obviously backing him in his run and probably did not want that to come out. Well written and the pacing was excellent on this chapter. What a truly horrible way to be tortured and killed, whatever gave you the idea for that???
-
Truly loved this one; I can't wait for the next adventure to begin. The writing and pacing was excellent throughout this story. Your drew such vivid characters so that we cared almost from the first about each of them in their own ways. Well Done...

Loved it, just a perfect revelation...

Prayers and condolences for your loss... I hope you and the family are able to move forward at the appropriate time. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I think that Jake over-reacted as Diaz was alive, if injured, and out of jail; Klaus should have realized that Jake was going to know something was up and follow him, no matter what Diaz is his only living blood relative, he could not just walk away from him. They are both caught in webs of their own making. Diaz is an idiot...
