Don't know whether to call this a Christmas blessing or a miracle, so I will just say both. The writing and pacing were wonderful and we moved the story along nicely, only another chapter or two and I would think we would be off on another adventure; of course, getting away from England can sometimes be an adventure in and of itself. Glad for Kingsdale, hope the exam doesn't prove to difficult for him; but do worry about Calvert and Gatling, after what Roberts said, have to wonder about how well Gatling will ever deal with a relationship in the British navy.

Chapter 25 - Passages
centexhairysub commented on CarlHoliday's story chapter in Chapter 25 - Passages
Devastated, I just hate that this happened to the kids. Hope we find out what happened to each of them. -
I came across a comment in another story that reminded me of this one. It really is one of my favorites on this site.

Well, seems a little heavy handed to just move the conference without notice; plus did the cadets resign their citizenship of their respective countries? How can they be prevented from going back, nothing was indicated in the previous chapter that they would not be able to return, or if it was I missed it. Good chapter, but a little heavy handed on the part of the URP.

Another good chapter, but I have to wonder why they want a space station, that seems like it would just be antagonistic toward the people of Earth that are already upset.

Enjoyed the chapter, I do like the pacing since we have slowed down on the escalated time in the early chapters. I have to admit that the blanket exclusion of any religious group bothers me some. If you are going to do that simply limit it to atheist, agnostics, or other non-believers in the traditional world religions. My personal experience is that those on the fringe of the so called Christian right are just as filled with hate as any of those on the fringe of other religions. And in Texas, where I am located, you have more than a few that fit that description. I guess because most of the Muslims that I know are more moderate, I have personally not been exposed to that fringe element. I have to wonder why after already having the laws explained to them, that two would wait to the last moment to advise they have a problem with it???

Really enjoyed this chapter, the pacing and writing were so good. I would like to know a little more about what Diaz actually did, have to wonder if he believes know that he could do something stupid and get bailed out again? I know Jake has spent years hiding what he is but he is almost to naïve to be believed about some things. It is sad to see how terrified he is of the only true family that he appears to have left. Klaus handled both brothers like a virtuoso. I have a feeling that Klaus could be so vicious that Diaz nor his gang would survive a real battle with him. Keep up the great work.

Good chapter, the pacing and writing were good. I am going to take the opposite view of the review above. I am really happy that they are already working to try and bring the brightest and best into their group. I think getting a influx of talented individuals from different backgrounds can only be a good thing. I do wonder about limiting them to applicants from those four countries only, but understand the reasoning for that at least for the time being. I am sure they have the technology to do a deep background check and find only those that will live up to the high ideas behind their organization. I am sure that other will try and infiltrate the process but can only hope they don't succeed. I believe it will be the Merkels of our time that will be remembered in the future not the Mays or MAGA idiots that we are dealing with now.

Another good chapter, enjoying the pacing better in the last couple; but as always the writing is first rate. I do think if you slowed it down a bit and went into more details, the story might be developed more fully, but it is yours so you have to do what is comfortable for you. I still wonder if the deaths of those involved in the original chapter before the launch was something more than an accident. I would not want to locate any of the embassies to close to the USA, Russia, or China. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Enjoyed this chapter as well, I found it just right... LOL. This is what I would expect from any of our current idiots in power in Washington. On top of that the bureaucracy of any governmental agency just cannot be bulldozed through. Even something that everyone in the world would be aware of by this time, would come as a shock to those inside the governmental bureaucracy, especially in the United States. No other country in the free world has as many levels of pure stupidity and redundancy as the United States government. I still remember the deaths of those in the first chapter before this adventure even began; as we never got an answer, I still wonder if they were truly accidental or if that was the opening attempt at sabotage by the " others ".

Enjoyed this chapter, I did find the pacing better for this one, I think because there was no major time jump. I do like how the schools are what they are visiting, if nothing else; it would indicate to the governments around the world that to move forward an emphasis on education, especially science, technology, and engineering would be important.

I actually like how this is being handled; from the above comments some seem to have issues, but I think it has been laid out in a way that makes a great deal of sense. I do wonder how the larger nations are going to feel about NZ being the focal point. However, NZ has a stable government and has peaceful relations with most of the world, so in some ways they are the perfect host for this event. Keep up the good work.

I did enjoy this chapter; but feel the breakneck speed of events is hampering the story somewhat. I will give the benefit of the doubt to see if the reconnection with Earth will slow the pace of events down. I do see issues arising from certain governments feeling that as in everything else that they should be in charge; and the way this is being executed will cut them out to a large degree. I can see a firestorm brewing in the near future...

Another enjoyable chapter, I did feel the pacing was better in this one; but of course the chapter was not as long as the last one. I still wish the time covered was not as extreme but I am still betting there is a reason for this. I have to wonder how the governments of Earth will handle having a colony that close to it; humans as a group are rarely understanding or pacifistic.

I really did enjoy this chapter; but found the rapid progression of what is happening a little jarring. I kept wanting to know more details. I suspect there is a reason for this rapid advance, but I hope we get a chance to view someone of what took place at a later time in the story. Excellent story development, can't wait to see where you take this.

Chapter 24 Puppies and the Deacon Trust
centexhairysub commented on Zenith's story chapter in Chapter 24 Puppies and the Deacon Trust
What a wonderful chapter from start to finish; I did find the part with the puppies being born and the questions that raised to be particularly well done. -
Well, Jake is really coming out of his shell in a fine way; then Diaz shows up to send him scurrying back like a hermit crab. Have to wonder if Diaz is finally bringing his stuff to Jake or is there another reason that he has arrived? Did the fight that started in the alley end up causing issues? The scene with Klaus and Jake was really hot. Glad to see that Jake was able to take the opportunity to learn something from the foreman, and glad to see that maybe he understands that his world could be more then he thought in the beginning. Can't wait for the next chapter.

I think for the first time Klaus is starting to question whether his feelings for Jake are following the same path as those in the past. He is wondering if the time he is required to spend on this project will be enough to satisfy his needs toward Jake. Jake is starting to give into his feeling and admit to himself what he truly wants. He seems to about ready to start facing up to what his life would be out in the open, but he just isn't quite there yet. Love the scene where Jake throws the device out the window, as if he scored a victory over it and was vanquishing it in the end. Keep up the great work.

WOW, this was such a great chapter and we really learned so much. Hans would be a good friend for Jake no matter what. Hans obviously was truly in love with Klaus at one point and still cares for him deeply; and would probably fall back in love with him easily, if he ever really got fully over him to start with, which I doubt. Jake doesn't handle alcohol well and is definitely a virgin. If he wasn't sure that he and Klaus did or did not have anal sex, then he has never had it before... Jake wants Klaus more than he can admit even to himself. Klaus is a class act. He wants Jake but will not take advantage of him when he is inebriated. He wanted Hans at one point and cares enough not to want him to get hurt by the current situation. Klaus will win the battle but the war is still open to a decision.

Loved the visual of Jake getting a spanking while bent over a conference table in an office like this one. It was just hot and funny all at the same time, not an easy thing to pull off. Klaus was right to discipline him, you can't just wander around touching and making changes without consequences but he also recognized Jakes innate sense of how the new area should be laid out. That is something that few have and fewer really understand. Increasing the green space and make the store more accessible will increase the cost; but makes the livability factory much higher and can actually make the project more successful long term.
-
Loved this chapter, the writing and pacing were just perfect. I do think that Klaus understands Jake on a level that Jake does not even understand himself yet; have to wonder if Klaus dealt with family disapproval at one time in his youth perhaps. I think Klaus has a plan for Jake that is more than just getting him into bed. The chastity device may be to teach him some self control, although there are clearly other issues involved as well. I can't wait for the next chapter, is Jake perhaps going to find out exactly how well Klaus can function via a demonstration perhaps, will it be viewing only or some participation as well...

Really enjoyed this chapter, everything about it from start to finish. I don't think Klaus is nearly as bad as some of the others; I think he is use to getting his way one way or another, and I think he knows what he wants and why but some of his others feelings maybe obscured even from himself. Hans is an enigma, he clearly desires Klaus even if it is just the physical; but there was a touch of worry and caring about how Jake is going to deal with this that comes through, at least if did to me. I can actually see Hans as being someone that could end up helping Jake or at least being in his corner to a degree. Jake is a little to petulant for me, the charming side of it is wearing very thin. I know that most of it is coming from a place of insecurity and some fear but confront it don't try and use your mouth to get out of every exchange. And the bruises to prove it, hmmm..., this story may be even more to my liking... LOL
-
Another good chapter, I did find the pacing a little more choppy in this chapter however. I have to wonder why Jake is so self-deprecating, it is getting on the verge of being self-defeating in some ways. I have to admit that I work with youths and never like when they always find a reason to criticize themselves, sometimes it is a reflection of how they perceive others to view them and sometimes it is a ploy, either way, it is never a good thing.

This is proving to be an very entertaining story. I have to admit that I had already sort of figured out where part of this was going; but the writing was truly first rate. None of the three characters that we have been truly introduced to has proven stock, although Diaz could go that way if not more fully developed. Jake is truly interesting and Klaus is already multi dimensional at this point. Can't wait to see how they develop and interact.

A truly interesting start to this story; I have to admit that the idea of a Bruce Lee type rescuer in an Armani suit was just too good to pass up. Found the writing and pacing really enjoyable. Gave just enough information to start with to keep you wanting more; without giving up to much of the storyline. Can't wait to see where you take this.
