Chapter 40 - The End and the Beginning
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 40 - The End and the Beginning
We have lost so many, Uall Island and the Mermonster gave their lives to protect this group and try and help the survivors escape. Nuji have her life to save another. Can we make it so that the Humans that have gone to Earth can never return to Nextworld? Can Nextworld be fixed and made to be a better place for all those that now call it home? Can the Earth destroy the Humans that invaded it? -
What a delicious desert, the perfect way to end the day. Funny and ever so witty, flowed well and the writing was spot on.

I was expecting a few answers from this chapter; but all we learned are that wolves just want blood and meat, Lennix has saved each of them at one time or another, and that maybe there is no real answer to be had.
-
Maybe it is just a hopeful coincidence, or wishful thinking on our part. Aaron so wants a connection to his family, and maybe we are all looking for that for him. Or maybe, I have just lost my mind. LOL

Oh Goddess, another revelation coming, and I am not sure that I am ready for it. If only everyone could speak the truth for one day without any future repercussions, what could be cleared up and who all could be helped by this. Of course, sometimes the truth doesn't help, but can hurt.

Chapter 39 - Reunion and Loss
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 39 - Reunion and Loss
Glad they were able to rescue a few more, but to lose Nuji is heartbreaking. I was so hoping that the Mermonster and Uall Island would be spared, but they loved their people enough to sacrifice themselves to help a few more to safety. All of the Human's that invaded the Earth in this last assault deserve to die. -
The interview went really well, I expected Tony to come off a little more stiffly, but it seemed to flow really well. When you are selling yourself or your product, any publicity is good publicity, well, within reason. Let's hope this is just the start to getting Tony's dream to a reality. Tony's relationship with all the guys is special. @chris191070 is right I believe. There was something about the kid, it was just too coincidental for him to have caught Tony's eye. May not look exactly like Aaron, but close enough for Tony to realize something, even if he isn't sure that it is yet. I think that Zach was the name of Aaron's brother, think it was mentioned in another book. Is he alone and looking for Aaron or are the idiot parents with him as well. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Thanks for taking a look at this wonderful genre. Some of the best and brightest authors and some truly outstanding stories.

Jacob & a return to the Basket Makers Arms
centexhairysub commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Jacob & a return to the Basket Makers Arms
Jacob turned out to be very interesting. Maybe they should offer to rent him a room. LOL Freddie seems to be dealing with all of these pronouncements as if they are nothing. Glad that Matt went with Graham and Freddie and had another little excursion at the local pub. Vince and Peter seem to be moving forward with each new person that they bring into their confidence about their relationship. Can't wait to see what happens next, maybe another garden party soon? -
Chapter 38 - Sorrow
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 38 - Sorrow
I hope as soon as they can find the last one, and figure out a way to get Uall and the Mermonster to Nextworld; that the Earth decides to destroy itself and take all the humans there with it. -
Stephen's Visit With Dr. Taylor and More Jeff
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Stephen's Visit With Dr. Taylor and More Jeff
Stephen's appointment went better than I would have expected it too honestly. Maybe Jeff really has learned a few things, let's hope he stays on the straight and narrow. Stephen and Michael are getting closer, but neither of them is really ready for anything major sexually, they need to take their time and only move forward when they are ready. Pauline's comment raises a few red flags for me. I know going through something like that with their kids and him had to be terrifying, but don't equate being gay with being a child molester, the overwhelming number of sexual predators are heterosexual. -
Mistress Alice and Dante go to the theatre. LOL Mistress Alice is beyond struck by the strangeness of the place and the way those there dress to parade themselves not just be there. Dante runs into an old friend, an actual friend, not just an acquaintance. The Golden Ten are explained and identified, at least those in attendance. Dante learns who his father was and gets to see a picture of him back from when he was a dancer. Mistress Alice offers to let him know the name of his mother, but Dante realizes he views the Mitchell farm as home and those are his people now.

Chapter 37 - The Island
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 37 - The Island
There will always be those that no matter how bleak the future appears will not abandon their homes and what they know, not even for a chance at survival. The fear of the unknown can be too great. Let's hope the group can move as fast as possible to save as many of those that will go as possible. I have to wonder if Uall Island and the Mermonster will be able to go through the portal somehow? -
I truly do believe that there are those with abilities that enable them to if not see the future, divine what the possible outcomes may well be. Of course, there are many more that don't know day from night; but they can talk faster than most people can listen, so they can convince some that they too have a gift. Which is she, only time may tell. Tony doesn't understand but his books have brought people to this area, looking for signs that what he wrote about it there. Perhaps they are seeking help in their lives or only want a chance to see a place from the books that helped them in some way. Mike and Jess had another run in with their so-called mother, not sure anyone that acts the way she does actually deserves the title but still. Getting Mike and Jess and Jess friends, Kellie will give Tony a chance to connect with them and allow them to see some of the family that isn't going to reject them out of hand. Wonderful addition can't wait to see what happens next.

Maverick is trying to move a little faster to get to Randy and Provincetown as fast as he can. A preview meal or two always does wonder for a new restaurant like that, works out a few kinks and if everything goes well, the word of mouth can be priceless. Jules will get his, but he will have to be patient. A delight.

Ah, so it was the King that added that little issue with the Prince of Orange and started the delay to getting the treaty done. Granger was right, Daventry needed to wait to see those in the Government. This delay kept both Granger, but mostly Daventry from looking the fool in front of the ministers. Winkler will always do what he can to make sure that Granger is taken care of and happy. Calvert annoys me, but I do believe he makes George happy, so I won't wish him ill will. Cavendish is someone that is trying to make his way without the support of his father, but as long as he has Granger in his corner, he will be able to survive with that support. Granger and Carmella will set the tongues a wagging, but what will everyone think when Caroline turns up " pregnant ", that may be an issue to deal with, will the crowds turn on Granger and more likely Carmella?

Chapter 36 - The Finger
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 36 - The Finger
I had hoped that they could stop the Earth from being destroyed, as you know that is what will happen eventually with the Humans in control. -
Marc and Adam have fully demonstrated the most important lesson they may ever teach any of their family. No one is above the rules/laws and that includes family. A wonderful look at the inner dynamics of the family and how both Marc and Adam operate.

@Celian, at times, I truly hate how good of a writer you are. This was chapter was enough for me to find myself caring about Phoenix, Silver Eyes, and a little more about Jay. What some of them are going through is enough to drive them to suicide or at least allowing death to take them without a fight. I think we can all guess what incident created Silver Eyes...

Chapter 35 - Unguarded
centexhairysub commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 35 - Unguarded
Let's hope everyone appreciates what Mermoster has as a defensive system. An interesting look at one of the " crew " that we sort of just take for granted. -
Friends' Reactions, and Gavin's Visit
centexhairysub commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Friends' Reactions, and Gavin's Visit
Nothing travels faster than the speed of gossip, and it is rarely even remotely accurate. Leon seems to be getting better. Hope that Stephen's appointment will help him deal with what he is going through. Terry is truly a good man; hope he goes far in life as shows how to treat others. Gavin got a small exposure to something that he truly wants no part of; I know others have had the same exposure and some always feel they would be the top dogs or not have what happens there happen, but so rarely proves to be true. -
Etienne and Corin discovered a horrible truth and reality, the evil of war brings out the evil within men that he wants to express but fears to do so during times of peace or prosperity. While they will both heal physically, let's hope that they can overcome the emotional and mental trauma involved.

What a marvelous tale from one of the best authors this site has to offer, and that is truly saying something. The title is cany as it came me one of two different groupings of three, and I admit I did not fully think about that until about midway through this latest installment. As always, the writing and character interplay and development are first rate. The story is a delight, but might be a bit hard to follow if you haven't read the previous stories in this saga; that said, who isn't reading this? A lovely cup of tea and your best English pudding, and away we go...

A break point that makes sense and leaves the possibility for so much more. Love how each of these four have a slightly different dynamic with each other individually and in different groupings. They are a real delight. Toby is in many ways wise beyond his years. Touched that he was truly concerned enough about Russ up and disappearing if there was a fallout between Russ and Brian/Gordon to have that discussion. Hope they all have the merriest of times during the holidays and find themselves back in each other's company sooner than later.

So much going on, Travis and Taylor came through relatively unscathed, but Travis picked up a few more injuries and reaggravated a few old ones. Just how much does Taylor weigh? The burns are the most concerning for me, although the threat of any type of infection can be significant. MRSA, MSSA, and VRE are no laughing matter, and strangely enough more than a few hospitals are breeding grounds for all three. I believe Taylor, I don't think she had any clue what was going on with Travis in New York, could Guy Fellowes truly be behind this? I would not have thought he would have had the resources to do so but??? Taylor may know more than she realizes, Brad, Jake, and JP all need to have a talk with her, see what they can get her to remember. So, they are trying to get Travis and the rest of them to Escorial for Thanksgiving. This family isn't always the calmest group under normal circumstances with holidays, but this one may well end up being a doozy. Things are coming to a head but can't wait to see what @Mark Arbour has planned for Thanksgiving at Escorial.
