Chapter 11 is up and is an emotionally charged chapter from beginning to end. Clearly Matt, Wade, Brad and Will are not in a good place to be yet and they have a lot left to process. The shadow of 9.11 is never far for them and then life intervenes and provides additional heartaches. I don't see any early resolution to much of what is tearing them apart and certainly not an easy one. Talk about volcanoes!

Wish I could "like" Timothy M's comment. The more I read this book of the saga, the more it seems that the title was well-chosen. More please!

stanollie Today, 07:35 AM (Chapter 10 Review) stanollie Another revealing chapter. One minor observation: Shaker Heights is no longer totally populated by snobs, only about fifty percent. Interesting observation about about now. But how about in 2002? I suspect that some of the fifty percent who are not snobs are wannabees and the rest got some incredible deals on short sales when homes were lost because the owners were underwater following the Great Recession.

I'm not sure about nice---but appreciative, certainly! And I have to say I don't know how they keep up either. Job well done! I appreciate all your work and hope you continue along with our esteemed author who seems to be maintaining his frenetic pace.

My takeaway from this chapter is that things are still pretty much fluxed up.... It did move the story along a bit. Will decides he needs to make nice with Zach's parents and decides he is hitching a ride with his dad. His attitude to his dad is beyond self-righteous however and considering his own foibles maybe just a tad less sympathetical than he expects from everyone else. Matt's explanation to Wade about the imbroglio caused by the hook-up between Brad-Wade and how he would react if it continued was neatly done and surprisingly insightful for Matt. The scene with JP calling both Matt and Wade to his office was fun. Brad has learned to hoist his father on his own petard effectively. More please!

Reply from Mark Arbour (author) Graduation as a happy time: my personal experiences are that it's actually an extremely stressful time. Usually it's surrounded by a lot of uncertainty, and a massive change in lifestyle. Different times, different experience. When I graduated, I took the federal civil service test (yes in the days when there was such a beast) and scored well so I had several job offers from departments as diverse as the IRS, VA and DOD. It was exciting. My youngest brother graduated in the mid-seventies and had offers from McDonnell-Douglas, Boeing, IBM and others to consider. My nephew who graduated in 2009 finished his Master in Civil Engineering and had offers from more than a couple of companies as well. While the job market is certainly a lot more problematic since the great recession, there are still majors that are competitively sought by companies. So while it might be somewhat stressful, I can't imagine that going from an undergraduate to graduate environment could be all that hightly stressful for these guys in their chosen majors. The stress would be in making the cross country moves and finding housing. With their money and Stef's help, I expect that will be less stressful than for the average joe without mega-millions.

I don't know why I keep hoping to learn something about Griffin......

Another exciting episode. And ouch! Rib injuries fucking hurt and for a long time! Matt has to deal with a lot of issues that are causing him pain too! Really, not a fun time for him or the rest of the characters. The grief and the loss of Robbie continues to haunt them even as they try to process their ongoing lives without him. And graduation is supposed to be such a happy time. Thanks for another riveting chapter. More please!

The last paragraph makes an excellent point. And now with Matt laid-up and who knows yet how seriously he really was hurt, I suspect their little overseas jaunt may be in jeopardy as well. And finally, while I don't think Zach expects Will to be exclusive with him, Zach may also have a problem with Will getting it on with Matt........

What an "oh shit" moment when Brad looked up and saw Will in his bedroom. Still wondering just how seriously injured Matt really is. Will apologizing for interfering with Ben and then getting so self-righteous over his discovery is so typically Will. More please!

The 1965 Mustang was launched in April 1964 and the 50th Anniversary model will be launched in April 2014. The traditional launch date of new models in America is in September so this was 5 months early. It was one of the most successful launches in automotive history.

I drive a 2009 Ford Fusion. It's the SEL model V-6 with the moon roof and rear spoiler. It is silver ingot with black leather interior. Of course I call him Silver! OK I didn't initially report all the cars that I've owned or own because well, I've been at it for a long time. The first car I drove was a 1959 Ford stations wagon 3 speed stick shift. (I owned it with my older brother. We bought it for $125.00) The second car I drove was a 1960 Galaxy 3 speed stick shift. (My brother owned it and he got it when it was a year old. I drove it because I put gas in it.) The third car I drove was 1964 Ford Custom. It was a turquoise blue/green and I was the primary driver but it was owned by my mom who didn't drive yet. The first car I owned was a 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner, 383 cu. in. engine, white, black vinyl top with black rolled and pleated leather interior. No power anything except the engine could go like a bat out of hell. I had it up to over 140 mph on a track a couple of times. The second car was a 1975 Ford Granada. My wife was the primary driver. The third car was a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass. A really sweet car, dark maroon with a red interior. My wife was the primary driver. The fourth car was a 1980 Ford Fairmont Station wagon. Light blue with a gray interior. Great for going camping.I was the primary driver. It was called blue. The fifth car was a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis, dark burgundy with a red interior. My wife was the primary driver. The sixth car was a 1991 Mercury Sable Station Wagon, Ice crystal blue. I was the primary driver and called it Ice blue. The seventh car was a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis, cherry red with red interior. My wife was the primary driver. The eighth car was a 1999 Mercury Mystique, dark red with a gray interior. I was the primary driver and I called it, my little red car. The ninth car is a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis, Crystal blue ice. My wife is the primary driver. The Fusion mentioned above is the tenth car I've either owned or was a primary driver.

An XXX rated ending to the chapter alright and I'm glad our heroes got a little nookie in--they need to store up some good memories to get through the deployment.

I think that the visit to his psychiatrist made clear to Matt that he and Wade have been going through the same thing, just differently: Mark wrote: “Matt, for a long time now, you’ve been struggling to get personal space, distance, to go off on your own and lick your wounds. That’s a lot of what we’ve been dealing with.” “Yeah. So?” “It sounds to me like Wade is trying to do the same thing,” he said. “He admitted that he loves you, but he is afraid of a relationship with you. How is that different than where you were just a few months ago?” I looked at him and blinked. “I guess it isn’t.” “He wants some distance to rebuild his life. He doesn’t see you involved in that rebuilding process. That’s probably why he excluded you from going to Boston at first, and why he’s been so adamant about you not being a couple.” Somewhat later in that session Mark also wrote: “He had to cut me off to save himself?” “That sounds like what he said to you,” Casey noted. “You keep asking him what you have to do to be together, and that just creates more drama and more stress for him. He told you what you have to do.” “What?” I asked, because I’m an idiot. “You have to build your own life separate from him. You have to be stable and secure in yourself, and you have to be calm and supportive with him.” The psychiatrist went on to emphasize "no drama" to Matt. And I think Matt started to get an idea of where Wade was coming from and why he needs to get his act together if he ever hopes to have a chance with Wade. Hopefully, Mr. Arbour will keep both of them around long enough so that we can all see where this ends up. But somehow I think it might not happen in this particular book of the saga.....

The back and forth with Wade and Matt was well done and the follow-up Matt had with his shrink was even more insightful. Maybe Matt really will get it. Poor Brad, the carpenter's come-on was genuine and too intense for Brad to deal with yet. Somehow I sense, Brad will be having a word with Will soon about his (Brad's) personal life..... More please!

Being a parent is always tough. Some have it tougher than others. Getting both dads as legal parents is important. If something happens to birth dad, the other dad has no status and family services may take custody or give the child to the birth mother. Wedding or not.

I too loved the extra chapter. Shorter posting times never hurt my feelings on a story I love! That Gary was so gracious and invited our hero to come up and go fishing said a lot. That our hero recognized his lover's mom needed some alone time with her baby also said a lot. Caring is always in style and I loved this chapter!
