Ever the optimist, I had no inkling that Luc would suicide. I don't think Scott did either. For all his brilliance he couldn't figure out a path forward. That's not just sad, but devastating.
The story title is a truism. Nobody makes it through life without getting hurt. For most it makes you stronger, but for some it becomes a defining issue. Help exists, yet some feel responsible or unworthy of getting the help needed.
I wonder if Scott and/or Josh realize they need help, just as Scott suggested to his friend about the munchkin?
