The embassy's public relations officer was certain to be involved with the Oscar nomination. Carter seems capable and drafted a statement that CJ and Owen used on their social media as well. Poor Northman never had a chance! The Brit mentoring CJ was especially well written. I must be getting used to these breezy, concise chapters, but I still prefer longer ones!

Well Maddox has figured out they were both pretty lame at relationships. Ray bit his tongue and didn't tell Jonathan what he thought about Jonathan's relationship with Maddox and at least somebody can shut up. Now if Jonathan figures out why he feels upset about breaking it off with Maddox, we might...I stress "might" see them make some progress in this whole relationship thing beyond their obvious sexual chemistry.

I too can appreciate that writing this was difficult. Especially, since your dad was so affected by the death of your mother two years prior to his own. The death of your mom was a catastrophe for your dad and it seems he never really could deal with it and live. My dad died 59 years ago this coming April 22nd. Loosing a parent is always hard. Your story is particularly compelling because it defied expectations and you in particular were hoping for Martin to get to know the father who raised you and that was not to be... From the point of view of a son who is a nurse and had familiarity with taking care of patients, to being a family visitor must have increased your sense of futility. Your continued difficulty dealing with this topic is completely understandable. But you have taken another important step. My only advice from nearly 59 years of experience is to remember the good times and to remember the times your father took pride in your accomplishments and his good wishes for the future. Death is part of life and living well and appreciating each day as a gift is how I keep on my journey.

Jonathan is nothing if not persistently dense about Maddox. Rusty is sophomoric and Dex is intimidating, but a friend.

With that farmboy lawyer comment at the end of the chapter, I suspect CJ was goading Ozzie into plowing his field.... As others have noted, another fast read that should have been another half again as long. Now we have to wait another whole long week! Uuughhh!

Well the college algebra I took was in 1966..... High school was beginning algebra in 1962 and geometry as a sophomore. The science and math kids took trig as juniors and calculus as seniors. Times have changed. Although we did everything on paper with a pencil. No calculators, computers....ok some of juniors and seniors used a slide rule.

So the spy reiterated he has some cash and info set aside. No indication he gave any info on how or when he would access it. Not sure how much CJ joining the flight helped. I keep seeing the reference to the Oscars and can't help but wonder if that is what precipitated the "event".
