The drip, drip of information adds to the tension but does little to advance the plot. Perhaps Kells and Hunter could move things along?

Reilly's brother being involved in the kidnapping points to the pack in Idaho being in cahoots with the kidnappers and the child exploitation abuse. The Council could be corrupt or just infiltrated, but seems to be to blame in failing to take action to prevent additional kidnappings. Caleb should have more information on the pack in Idaho as it is adjacent to his... I wonder what Silas says when he sees all six sentinals together?

I haven't been reading the comments which probably could make a separate tale, all its own... Zev and Ben are obviously the the present version of the two blonds in the painting and so now we have the identity of all six of the current sentinels. The painting Silas has is old, very old and the setting it shows is probably in Europe somewhere in the Alps. When the two main threads to this story merge is when I expect things get a bit too exciting...

Ok, I think I've put most of it together. The questions I have center on Caleb and I suspect they'll be answered somewhere in the next twenty chapters.

Well that chapter covered a lot of ground. Having read the next book, I'll keep my thoughts to myself as to what it all means.

Well Silas did say that there were gay wolf shifters.... Ben is a fated mate for Zev, who happens to look remarkably like one of the wolves in that painting Silas has.... Still nothing about Ry and Sebastian. Our author continues to be a puppeteer.

Well circumstances forced Ben to come out, so to speak, and reveal his talent. Now I wonder if Silas will be able to help him discover if has more talents.... However, we are still in the dark about Ry and Sebastian and that still sucks a big one!

Well leave it to our manipulative author to leave us all hanging and go off on another interesting byway and then get smug about it with her closing remark! Yes, I know I left you hanging with Reilly and Sebastian. No, I don't feel guilty. You'll find out what happened in a couple of chapters. Ben and the Montana pack? It'll all connect. I promise. You just have to bear with me. Trust me. 😁

What a roller coaster! From the hottest sex either had experienced to utter pain and deformity, what a mess!

Well, the knees really are the story. Fifty-Eight times! Now I have to see what Donovan says and how Sebastian reacts....

I feel sorrier for Ry than Kellan, but both have had a tough road and I suspect it's about to get even more interesting. (Hint: The knees tipped the balance for Ry!)

I'm taking a stab at this but the first chapter was a chore to get through for me. Obviously, that feeling was not widely shared from the comments. I'll soldier on and see whether the story can pique my interest after that...

It's a cold day after a nice week of warm weather. I think pizza sounds great!

Shifter stories are not my favorite genre and I rarely do more than sample them. Shadow Effect had my interest and hooked me from the first chapter and held me for all 40 chapters. The writing is superb, the main characters are well drawn and loveable and the plot has you on a roller coaster of emotions. There is evil mystery, subterfuge, intense drama, romantic love and a sense of family that shines throughout. This is the second book of a planned trilogy. It may be helpful to read the first one but I have not, and found no problem with diving right into this one. I certainly plan to read the next one and am hopeful for a happily ever after for the good guys. I heartily recommend this story to everyone who enjoys a good story, well told! TWO THUMBS UP!

Read this in Branson early this morning. Waited until we got home and unpacked to reply! Vacations are good, unpacking sucks! I'm enjoying the birthday cruise and the picture of them hitting the fish golf balls from the deck was perfect. The water toys were too, although the big kids seemed to enjoy them as much as the little ones!
