Well based on this last chapter, I'm certainly glad there was a book two! If anyone hasn't read it, I heartily recommend Shadow Effect!

So the timeline skipped ahead 3 months, did they wait that long to execute the creeps? The chapter timeline is a little murky. The executions were appropriate to the heinous crimes committed. Reilly probably got more revenge and seemed to enjoy it more than her mother would have wanted but who could begrudge her? I must say the sex scenes were hot as usual and it seems the author enjoys writing them. Still wondering about Elijah and the remaining pups.

Caleb still has to be dealt with. The surviving council member's manner of death still is not decided. The extent of the "other" interests in the enterprise are still unknown. And I expect the worst of the shit storm is still to happen...

Playing the chapter like a movie in my mind, the amount of blood, gore and guts was astonishing! I was surprised Reilly made it through without ending up with a total mental breakdown. He's one tough shifter! Still don't know about Caleb, although he did help a bit at the end...

The evil bastards ran including the Nichols, Caleb and the two creeps from the Council. Hopefully they are caught and brought to justice. Still wondering just how deep Caleb was in it.... Milo, Vann and Elijah were rescued alive! Four of the good guys dead, a steep price and more on the heads of the bad guys who orchestrated the whole thing.

Wow invoking lines from the stories of A.A. Milne in everyday repartee, must have these big bad wolves licking their chops! I think Piglet might get eaten. In the frenzy of making plans, I still wonder what has happened to Milli and if it's too late to save him.

As I scrolled through the comments to get to the end, I notice a few signs of impatience. As the story is finished and I get to read it at my leisure, I don't have that problem....I have the problem of trying to get enough time in reading while keeping up with my real life. Uhmm, yeah, I do have a life and at age 75, I can't afford to waste too much of it... So Elijah is in with his new "adopted" mom and pop Sandi and Wayne. The butt pills had me laughing out loud and the improved tea that produced an Italian smell of garlic and oregano seems much better than wet mutt.

Find out if Nichols has secured the new facility. I have several more acquisitions in the works and we need to secure those pups as soon as possible. Powell has a new formula he wants to try out. Just part of the exchange that confirmed that Nichols is their accomplice. Are Alberts and Belland the only council members in it or are there others who may be more discerning and stealthy?

Where is a truth reader when you need one? Roberts seems to be the real deal, but confirmation would be nice! I wonder just how transparent the council members will be to Sebastian's request for records? Holding off on revealing their wolves is smart and timing when they display as sentinels could be game changing!

The chapter ends as I expect the real games to begin.... The thing about packs, is that there can only be one leader.... and the council still thinks they have control. While Sebastian has been careful, I suspect he will have to be a bit bolder in stating his authority as leader.

Well the young blond wolves are off to Callie to recruit an infiltrator... The status of the 6 when they get to Germany may surprise them despite what Silas said... I have to admit that while it took me a couple of chapters to get into this book, it was worth it! At least so far...

More clues but no smoking gun. Reilly's bro and dad are spending money from an unknown source. The pack has doubled in size with some biotech types included. The clues all further substantiate that they are at least complicit. No plans on how the pack will be dealt with were discussed.... Somewhere in the next 8-15 chapters we find out something about Caleb and a certain shape shifter...
