A suicide note was present, but the victim was handcuffed in a closed and chained tanning bed. The victim had previously been arrested, tried, and acquitted of first-degree murder, and arson.

Apparently, someone didn’t believe he was innocent.

I am humbly submitting a short piece of fiction in memory of Carlos. A lot of my energy in the past year has centered around elections and voting. I have often wished I could chat with him about some of it and get his opinions. I hope he is resting well, secure knowing that work is continuing.
