This is the story about the friendship between a gay hipster and a straight male hooker. This is a story about bonding and intimacy, about opening up and shutting down, about everything that sneaks in somewhere amongst love and lust.

Liam Fenton was Bas's first major crush in college. When Liam stood him up on a date, asking for a rain check, Bas figured their timing was not right. They meet again after six years. This introduces Jake, the narrator of Moorpark Palms, a funny book of stories about a small Los Angeles apartment building in the 1990s. Jake & Conor is a light little romance, once intertwined with the longer book. I broke it out because it distracted from the apartment stories.
