It's springtime in the mighty Andiol Empire. Despite the apparent tranquillity and prosperity, all is not well in the realm. Book Two of The Last Statue follows on from Heart of Black Ice Bay and traces the lives of five new characters across roughly similar timelines.

• Marica is almost duped by a night caller accelerating her future plan to escape the palace;
• Jasmar's instincts tells him to accompany Marica’s siblings on their escape to Loq;
• Tad, a menial in Aulderly, stumbles upon the missing Lore of Invocation;
• Brokerman has to help deal with an emerald explosion that rips through the grounds of the Aulderly;
• Duke Ervine holds together a fragmented empire while a new ruler is being agreed upon.

Everything in Emmett urges him to run away from Finley, who radiates danger. After a few encounters, however, when his healing nature takes over and tries to put a smile on the face of the constantly sad Finley, the question of what Finley actually is becomes more pressing, cause being in danger is the last thing he needs.
Fin tries rather unsuccessfully to run away from himself, with nowhere holding him for long. But Emmett's bright smile and strange blue-violet eyes intrigue him more than a little. Now if he only knew what exactly Emmett actually is, he might be able to deal with his strange-behaving dragon-side.

Heyward is seemingly stupendously rich, a giver of notorious parties and the possessor of an enviable art collection. There’s a question of whether a line should be crossed, and whether Heyward can even be trusted at all.

Being the oldest and growing up in a large family can be hard, especially when you are gay and the family is extremely homophobic. You are constantly being compared to your deceased father. A man whose stature and deeds are always increasing, as time goes by, and are held up as your goals. Anytime you reach those goals, your mother moves the goalpost further away.

You never seem to measure up. You are always being told that you are worthless and will never amount to anything since you cannot measure up to your father. It never mattered that you were a straight "A" student and that you were an athlete.

John asked if he could use my main characters from "A Ticklish Thriller" in his story, "My Ticklish Grandsons," and create a backstory for Mikey and his family. I was extremely flattered and eagerly accepted and was even more surprised when he asked if I'd work with him on developing his story. Then that started an idea for a stand alone sequel to Thriller using his characters The Giovanni Clan which became "The Ticklish Brotherhood."

Michael (Mac) and Devin are now sophomores (2^nd year) at college, and Michael is looking at things with different eyes, since he is also a skinwalker now. This doesn’t merely mean through the eyes of the animals and others he transitions into, but in general he now looks at situations differently, since he has this new ability, but will it change him?
