Headstall’s Poetry Prompts
Chapter 16 Predator
They can be young, old, or in between
In the spotlight or hiding unseen
Biding their time as they stalk their goal
Showing a coldness that denotes no soul
No respect for what others have built
Easy for them; they possess no guilt
Life ruined, is for them, no concern
Conquest is the victory they yearn
They prey on the weak, their tortured pain
Wearing them down for selfish gain
Use them up and then throw them away
Next up, they’ll focus on some new prey
Lives ruined, is for them, no matter
Smashed heart? Done. Step over the splatter
Yes- Dark and angry.
