A new poem for Remembrance Day, Wednesday November 11, 2015
Remember
You joined up to serve your country,
never expecting that you’d die.
You fought bravely with your fellows
while at home your mother cried.
Now is the time of remembrance
of crosses white and poppies, red.
And grateful for your sacrifice, we
stand in thanks, our tears we shed.
We listen to the lone trumpet blow
for you, the men we’ll never know.
