Stranded With a Vampire - 6. Chapter 6

"What?" Caden couldn't believe what he had just heard. How could the handsome, blue eyed man in front of him say that he and that disgusting, rotting corpse were the same being? It just didn't make sense.

"Listen dude, I know it sounds insane but you don't have to make fun of me! I know what I saw!" The redhead angrily yelled and threw the leftovers of his meal in the direction of the other man. To his surprise the dark-haired man had no issue catching it even though his eyes hadn't even looked in his direction.

"My name is Ludwig and not dude. And I'm neither a liar nor a jester." The other man grumbled and slowly turned his head to stare Caden down, his eyes no longer a deep blue, but instead a purplish shade that almost seemed to glow in the shine of the campfire between them. Ludwig tilted his head and a wide grin spread across his face, revealing long, needle-like canines, which oddly reminded Caden of a cat.

"I probably should give your body a little bit more time to replenish its blood but I haven't had such good food in a very long time, so… my deepest apologies in case you die." Ludwig sighed and in the blink of an eye, suddenly stood right beside the redhead, who still was too confused to really react to what was happening.

Only when he was pinned down on the cold cave floor, with the dark-haired man's teeth only inches away from his neck, Caden finally was able to grasp the danger he was in. He screamed at the top of his lungs and struggled against Ludwigs grip. While flailing around like a fish on land in order to get out from under the taller man, Caden's knee suddenly hit him between the legs, making the dark-haired scream out in pain and loosen his hold.

With tears in his eyes, Ludwig rolled to the side, holding his painfully throbbing crotch.

"Shit Dude, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to…." Caden apologized out of reflex, only realizing half way through the sentence that this was his opportunity to get the fuck out of there. Without waiting another second he jumped up and dashed towards the exit of the cave. He had almost reached it when suddenly his leg was grabbed and pulled out under him, making him fall face-forward onto the stone.

Fueled by the pain of his broken nose, Caden kicked the asshole into his face over and over again, while yelling any insult that came to his mind. He never had been much of a fighter but he sure as hell wasn't just going to let the freak do what ever the fuck he was planning to do.

Ludwig held onto him as if his life depended on it, snarling and growling like a wild animal, but the second Caden had inched his way into the sunlight that was seeping into the cave, he suddenly let go, almost as if he was afraid of something.

When Caden saw the dark-heads behavior it finally clicked. "YOU ARE A VAMPIRE?!" He yelled, the realization making him laugh hysterically.

This means I got an actual chance! Caden cheered, remembering the hundreds of movies and books he had read about his favorite monster. For once in his life he was not embarrassed that he was actually a huge fan of all types of mythological and folklorish creatures.

"I'm gonna fucking kill you Dracula! You got no goddamn chance against me!" Caden laughed, got back to his feet while making a cross symbol with his fingers, while slowly walking backwards into the bright morning sun.

"Once the sun goes down you will be mine!" The vampire hissed, and fleshed his long fangs.

Caden finally realizes he is facing a hungry vampire named Ludwig. He freaks out and tries to escape the cave as Ludwig goes after him for more blood.

Luckily he hits Ludwig in the gonads and is able to scurry outside of the cave into the daylight. Ludwig will chase Caden when it is dark and he cannot use the sunlight to protect himself. He is seriously worried. But, Caden has read books and studied up about vampires and other supernatural creatures. He will improvise. Will crosses keep Ludwig away? He could create some stakes as a defense tool to aim at Ludwigs heart. I have a feeling a very powerful and super-fast vampire could get past Caden's defenses. 

The two are just getting acquainted. It is not yet certain they can get along. If Ludwig is not careful he will kill off his food source. He could not stop himself earlier from trying to suck out more blood at the possible loss of Caden's life. Will he be more careful at night or will he kill him out of spite?

I swear even in the middle of his celebration, Caden should have realized that it is only sunny part of the day.  Even in that area of the world it might be a little longer than average depending on the time of the year, but what is Caden going to do once the sun goes down...

Ludwig should have been more disciplined as well; if he had handled it differently, Caden might have been his without getting his nuts racked.  

So many interesting parts to this story; but neither character is without issues...

Interesting use of short chapters to tell the story.  Have you been taking lessons from Cia? Ludwig's confession followed by his chilling words and actions was just plain stupid.  He needs to protect Caden and gain his trust.  Now Caden is panicked and determined to protect himself.  If Ludwig had used his brain, he could have Caden's blood and maybe a side of lust to boot.  Instead, he got a boot to the nuts. Ouch!

I don't know who Cia is. I just wrote whatever came to my mind, without really caring for chapter length or anything really, to be honest. The story was mostly meant to entertain Thirdly and to force me to focus on something while I was slipping into a manic episode. 

 

Yes both characters aren't particularly cunning or bright, though Ludwig is slightly more intelligent then Caden 😆.

BTW--A new vampire movie arrives on April 12-Renfield. The guy is Dracula's tortured human aide and supplier who in the movie seeks to find life outside of helping his dominating vampire. Dracula will not let him go.

Will Caden turn into a version of Renfield?

A manic episode (I miss spelled it) is a bit hard to explain, because it's kinda different for everyone. But it's basically a phase were you feel like you are on drugs, even though you took none. It's a part of a bipolar disorder and the symptoms are mostly restlessness, insomnia, impulse behavior, irritation and grandeur (till the point of full on delusion). So yeah it's not fun at all. Thirdly even had to talk me out of joining a hippie commune 😅.

 

Oh I haven't seen the movie yet, definitely have to watch it.

And if Caden will become a version of Ranfield.... 🤐. Let me just say Caden is not gonna back down that easily...

Cia is an author and site administrator here.  Many of the books Cia has written have short chapters of less than 1000 words.  Since Cia sometimes edits or betas other authors, my comment was an observation (with a vague reference) to the length of chapters in this story.  The comment was not intended to criticize the length of the chapters.  I really liked Plattenbau and am now getting into this story.  Looking forward to the next chapter.😄
