When I wrote this I kept wishing I had a piece of the cake to do research as I was writing.  I will be adding more to Blackbirds soon.  I now have a poetry journal where I write down pieces of poems and ideas from poems.  I will be waiting until after the Poetry Anthology posts to add more.  I do have three poems that will be published in the Anthology.

Decorating with dense ganache?/ Pleasing visual with panache. -- Love it! Luxe and luscious image/sensation/flavor/texture.

I have to say, the final stanza had my mind venturing onto the sharing of the cake more than the gâteau itself. Sharing, say, between a special two in a romantic mood

Thank you for your kind remarks my friend.  I am happy you caught the undertones I intentionally wanted the poem to convey.  Future offerings will be coming as I add chapters.  I am planning to place at least three new poems in each chapter.  Overall, Blackbird Sings will be filled with light hearted, humorous poems that express my joy of living.  I now have a poetry journal with several ideas and poems I am working on.  I plan on a new chapter for this after the Poetry Anthology comes out.  I have three poems there.  The entry is Searching For My New Life.  I appreciate your encouragement and support.

Absolutely scrumptious, Terry. Great word choices and I felt the rhythm as I salivated over a dessert that is my go to when I indulge. The third verse was my favorite, and the last two lines at the end of the poem were deliciously seductive. You done did good, my friend! Look forward to more. G.

Not a fan of Black Forest cake but I did enjoy it here. Your turn of phrase is wonderful. The last bit was so innocently naughty.

Absolutely loved the poem, Terry!  Your poem manages to evoke two separate, yet related, images and to me that is quite the achievement!
