Really well written. I loved how the the two stories flowed into each other; they were not only connected but each one enriched the other. A beautiful story with a message that echoes over decades.

How wonderful! Of course, I liked the romance and chemistry. But what I loved was how messy and human the characters and the relationships were. SA really brought Mike and Shane to life.

This was fun! I wasn't expecting others to see the genie but I loved how everyone just rolled with his chaos. Thanks for the story and the laughs, SA!

She knew or at least, heavily suspected there was someone was in her house but the problem was that no one believed her or tried to help me. I guess, the breakdowns made her seem even more unstable. I was re-reading the story and it hits differently when you know the ending. On first read it seems like Gemma is just neurotic when her stuff gets displaced. But she's actually freaking out that her stuff is moving when she's supposed to be leaving alone. Seriously fucked up.

I had never heard of Flannan Isles or its lighthouse before, so I went into the story completely blind. And I liked it! I liked how the mood was set through key findings and facts. I found the ending a bit abrupt but overall, it was very enjoyable.

Right from the beginning, it was clear that there was something odd about the 'roommate' situation. I was convinced that Gemma was just MC's imagination. But I didn't expect the reveal to be even more disturbing. I don't normally read stories like this but I have to admit that I quite enjoyed this one. It's very well written. I liked how deeply the SA brought us into the MC's character and I can see the MC scratching himself when reading this sentence.

I actually laughed out at this moment too! Loved this! Why do I feel so seen? Yes, I like to curate my Pinterest boards. Doesn't mean I'm a cult leader... yet. I liked how obnoxious the MC is at the start, how he tries to portray himself as this cool guy. How he throws 'deep truths' so casually, almost disinterested. I was smiling like a deranged loon while reading it. Which made the reveal of the mirror more heart-breaking. You can feel the switch, the drop of the act. I really enjoyed the story, SA. Well done.

Right in the feels! The irony of Tom showing more humanity than many of the humans in the story. Plus, there's a childlike wonder in the way the SA wrote him that makes Tom so precious. Makes me want to squish him. I had a feeling it was a cat from the first paragraph itself (subliminal info from the title?) and then it said "Knocking something off a high surface". Lol. Of course. Well done, SA!

Such a nice story. I really liked your writing and characters, especially Jack. He's fumbling around, the self-depreciation palpable. And I just want to bundle him up and protect him. Guess Dave had similar ideas.

A breathtakingly beautiful prose and a gamut of messy and tangled emotions. Such a glorious contrast. HIghly recommended.

I read this last week but didn't leave a review because I couldn't articulate my feelings. I came back today, read it again and I'm as lost for words. The writing in itself is so beautiful that it never lets you go. You always had a way with words. But what struck me is what lies beneath the lyrical prose. The honesty. The rawness. The emotions are messy and complicated in a way that only real life could be. And your person shines through the voice, the details, the references... So palpable that I could see you through your words. Thank you, truly, for sharing this.

Some stories need to be read because of the authors behind them. For the craft, the imagination. Then there are some very few that need to be read because of the person behind them, for their earnestness. I believe that's what we owe them, not as readers or fellow authors, but as as one person to another. Richard's Choice is one of those select few.
