Secret Author Event-Forbidden Knowledge is due July 15th!

    By Cia

Wow, it's July 1st already?! There's a time warp somewhere, I swear. Or some sort of spell on my life at times, perhaps from a book of Forbidden Knowledge? Or each day I pass through the front door and enter a rift through which I lose time due to... well, who knows? What isn't forbidden is reminding all my site author friends that they need to get their themed stories to me ASAP if they want to participate in this year's fun! Click the banner to go to the event details. And readers, get ready t

Weekly Wrap Up (May 26 - Jun. 1)

I now know why I was so giddy last week. The fact is I think that @Valkyrie is the reason why   See, she found this silly little web page all about otters, Called In Otter News. It is all about an otter named Steve and his friends  Some are actual pictures, other are cartons of him.   So every day the last couple of weeks, I check throughout the day and get my chuckles. So thanks for that Val  If it wasn't you, then I will retract my thank you and send to the correct person

In Flagrante Delicato

Getting "caught in the act" is the most common translation of this Latin phrase.  It involves a person being very naughty and someone 'walking in on them.'  I'm proposing these prompts because sometimes our characters can get just too nice.  Our protagonist can be too "pro" and our antagonist too "mean".  Sometimes having our main character suffer a character flaw, or two, can lend more authenticity to a story.  Let's stretch our wings and try something a bit nasty.   #223 - You are in

Upcoming Writing Events - Reminder

GA's Secret Author contests are a fun way to participate in site activities and also to get your stories read by a wide audience.  There's plenty of time to get a story written and submitted to Cia!  Just don't tell anyone you're participating   Outside of your beta/editing team, of course.  Information can be found here: Guidelines for our annual anthology have also been released, and it's never too early to start and get your story(ies) to the proof team.  More information can be found h

May CSR Discussion Day: Deeds of Their Past by mcarss

Did you read Deeds of Their Past by @mcarss for our Can't Stop Reading, or CSR, Blog Feature for May? This story has magic, foul deeds, and a few twists and turns to keep readers guessing. What did you think? Share your thoughts in a comment below the author interview!  If you were an animal, what would you be? Most certainly a bird. I love all birds, but especially hold a deep affection for corvids. More than once, I've considered befriending a murder of crows. The idea of having them

Weekly Wrap Up (May 19 - May 25)

Greetings and salutations from the GA Weekly Wrap Up   For some reason I am feeling giddy today, or maybe even ducky 🦆 ! Why, I have not a clue. My washing machined died on me this morning, and I don't think that should make be feel great. We had another thunderstorm today like the past few days, which I'm not a fan of (look at someone's anthology entries  ). And I went out to dinner tonight and my medium rare steak came out on the well done side. I'm not the guy to make a big deal and send

Freaky Friday

Sometimes life can get a little freaky.  So let's get our freak on and explain the unexplainable.     PT Prompt #221 You're running late to work and don't have time to stop for your customary cup of coffee.  Instead, you end up taking a completely different route to work and end up experiencing what can only be described as a 'glitch in the Matrix'.  What happened?   PT Prompt #222 You keep having moments of deja vu, to the point where it's starting to freak both y
