Weekly Wrap Up (Jan. 25 - Jan. 31)

Hmmm, so we are 1 down and 11 to go in months of this year. Where did January go! :o

Groundhog day is a coming, so just in case you haven't seen the movie like 100 times staring Bill Murray, especially over and over again on Groundhog Day, keep your eyes out on your local listings 🙄

A question for my friends to the south, how did you handle your small wisps of winter that we deal with from Nov. to May :P I shouldn't laugh, as places like Georgia and Texas among other places are not really equipped to handle that kind of weather. One of the most interesting things I saw in one visit to an unusually wintery week down in Dallas many years ago, was Highway Dept. pickup trucks driving down the interstates with guys standing in the back shoveling sand out of the back of the truck onto the road :o. I think that put things in perspective for me. Up here you will see a snow plow go by with 2 trailers dog legged behind the original plow so they can clear 3 lanes of highway at a time and each has a huge bucket sand on them to spread sand after the blades push the snow off the highway.

Now I don't know if you are a Superbowl fan or not, but I am told the the Patriots of New England are challenging the Seahawks of Seattle this year. If you do follow North American gridiron football (please don't yell at me, the rest of the world other than Canada and the US ) who are you cheering for?  Also the winter Olympics are coming up in a few days too! If you happen to be in Italy, make sure you go down to the boy aquarium and check out the guys :P. Any predictions there as well?

Now if you don't want to talk about sports or weather, let us have a free for all, where we can discuss whatever you want :). Tell me what is on your mind, within the rules :gikkle:

We had a good week this week at the GA News Blog, did we not?

Monday, Cia had the CSR Discussion Day:

Tuesday, Mr. Myr held a deep dive looking into the Comedy Genre:

Thursday, Mr. Myr was back again doing a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back look at an Anthology from 2007. I think I was still in High School back then ;):

Friday Ms. Val came in and turned the site into a tissy with a couple of new Prompts. Check them out but you can ignore the latter comments in the blog 😮:

I know the days are getting longer in the Northern Hemisphere, and shorter in the Southern, but do you wonder if Myr gets up earlier in the day each day to post the Words of the Day at the crack of dawn?

I don't care much for the Super Bowl, but there are plenty of Boy Aquariums where I live, even a few outdoor ones, if you can handle -15c; it feels like -25c (I don't mind the cold and snow as long as it's bright and sunny). My prediction for the gold medal. Connor, Nathan, Sidney, et al (the dream team from the great white north).

Seattle Seahawks for me... not a fan of the Patriots at all.

Groundhog Day... I am hoping for an early spring. Also, he's been wrong more than right.

Olympics... don't watch it at all.

Well, Austin, Texas area came to a complete stop for four days.  Nothing moved.

While on principle, I oppose the Patriots, I really don't care who wins, will be more interested in the commercials and halftime than the game itself.

Thanks for the updates.

A wise person asked about scoring in football and lopsided scores, the reply was…it is our job to score, and theirs to stop…as to the record number of superbowls won and lost, isn’t it the job of the 30 other teams to do just that.

This franchise was on the ropes for the past four years or so, and a bloody wonder they did as well as they did this year.

Win or lose, there will be no complaints from this 35 yr season ticket holder, the future looks great!,
