Duncan Ryder Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 in mexico I dreamed I was a sandpiper dancing an early morning beach such a joyous dance sweet and solitary on fragile toes and the wind was your touch on my feathered back and the water was the exact turqoise blue of my eyes the tracks I danced into the sand were wild and sweet tiny lines of delight barely there at all the sun burned higher into the sky and I was no longer a sandpiper (dreams are like that) children, small and blonde, found the sweet wild tracks and laughed with delight as they danced them away with small bare toes
Duncan Ryder Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Thanks. I just got back from MExico...the poem really is a post card! I've been to Mexico quite a few times. I try to get down for a week every winter just to get warm (its COLD up here in Canada!!!!) (And for those of you following Light...I didn't bring a laptop BUT I not only finished the draft of chapter 10, but 11 as well....so now I have TWO chapters longhand in a notebook ...as well as a bunch of additional scenes from future chapters as well. So.....expect new chapters very soon.) I think I brought spring back from Mexico with me. The geese are returning!
Cynical Romantic Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 That was beautiful. Almost made me forget that I hate the beach.
bigbear427 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Exquisite! Have you thought of doing a collection of your poetry?
