Hey Cam,

Setting up a yahoo group is pretty easy nowadays. There's prompted, step-by-step help in setting one up. Just go to yahoo groups, and click on 'Start a Group'

Somethings you may want to consider before you go to setup:

1) Figure out a name for your group

2) Do you plan on using the group for story/update notification only? Or do you want your members to be able to discuss your stories or anything Camilo related?

3) Do you want member posts to be moderated or unmoderated? If you want them moderated, you may want to consider recruiting a moderator or two to help with those tasks.

4) Come up with a 'Description' for your group. It's the information provided in the front page giving a summary of the purpose of your group.

Good Luck!

Take Care®,

2. Watch for the two big problems with yahoo groups. The first are spammers....people who join and then blast a post out there promoting some website (usually porn). The only way to really stop this is to moderate (pre-approve) all posts. The other one is more insidious. Watch for people who join your group and then post links in the "links" section, or files in the "files" section. Again, usually they are promoting something you don't wan them to do.

You can also fix this by making the group modderator(which would be you) the only person able to add anything to the group.

Oh thanks Guys :), I think imma call the Group either "Cam Cam's" or "Cammy's Goodies" although the latter might attract bad attention :/

The first one will attract people expecting to see you masturbating on a video cam. Not that there's anything wrong with that, and not that I wouldn't join just to watch.tongue.gif

I've been thinking of starting a Yahoo group myself actually. Now I'm even more tempted. Tiger Tales would be the name of course.

Heh, I had a yahoo group before coming to GA. It became a tedious little thing for me as I was posting to Nifty, On the yahoo group, and on efiction. So if more readers is really what you want out of the deal, then I think a yahoo group would be the fastest way to get there.. just don't expect your GA readers to come to Yahoo or your Yahoo/Nifty readers to go to GA (if you see that the yahoo group is too tedious). It didn't happen for me at all and I had almost 3,000 members reading my stories on Yahoo.. and when I closed the group GA's membership didn't experience a boom.. so safe to say they didn't follow.

One of the biggest mistakes I made was having the same e-mail address for all three. I still get e-mails from people that were once part of my yahoo group wondering where I've been. I closed the yahoo group when I was being promoted to Shared Hosted the first time...
