Yeah, JJ is 13. He's almost 14- will turn on December 7th. It's an honest mistake. Johnny Weir is a well-known figure skater, kinda known for being very flamboyant.

Here's an update of the current ages of characters in the CAP Saga as of November 1999:

JP- 63

Stefan- 54

Brad- 37

Robbie- 36

Ace- 36

Jack- 35-ish

Clare- 35

Max- 34-ish

Marcel- 30

Cody- 29

Brian- 26

Matt- 19

Wade- 19

Darius- 17

JJ- 13 (almost 14)

Marie Hobart- 13

Will- 13

John Hobart- 12

Courtney- 4

***

Nice little reminder, I guess. I'm good at keeping track of stuff like this.

I finally got my warning bar down to zero, and you want me to go lower, here? Posted Image As it was, I was worried that around here, they'd considered pubic hair to be porn.Posted Image

I've got a few more pics of him to upload to my Yahoo group.

Okay, I am now starting to worry that Brad and Robbie will not survive this and that just kills me... I still hope they make it through this and can grow old together. Robbie has only been with Carson, but he really is/was at least a little bit in love with him. Brad has been with several and just seemed to be having fun but with Cody, Max, and now Father Tim; seems it is more than just fun. Brad has talked about how Robbie couldn't get involved with someone without having feeling but I think for all his talk Brad is somewhat the same way. This isn't to say he can't just have sex but Brad tends to bond with those he has sex with when it is more than just a f**k...

Can't wait to see what Stef, more likely JP, found out about Dan Church. If he is tied to Carson and Brandon, and starting to look like they are involved as well, what/how is he getting these young guys to do his bidding? Are they just going along with it for money or sex? Does he have something on them? Did he find them and groom them for this or just pick them up on the way? Inquiring minds want to know??? 0:)

I feel Carson may turn out to be just evil. I can't ever remember Cody going as far as saying that someone had a black soul, not even when he and Brian fell apart. Plus don't forget that Cody said that Dan Church sounded familiar and he wasn't around back during Be Rad or Man in Motion, so any knowledge of him would have to be more recent.

The tech bubble burst in March 13th of 2000, a Monday. Will this story line run through that date?

I think it's inevitable that it has to happen. You title a story "Millenium", it's important you get through important dates in the year 2000. Although I don't think we're going to see the 2000 election, but you never know....Be Rad covered January 1985 to September 1986, so it's possible we could see this story cover November-December 2000. The fall of 2000 might actually make a good separate story- like Wade drops out of the hockey club his junior year of college to campaign for Al Gore or something.

And it looks like little Will is gay- those are pretty strong hints. Although did anyone else think it was weird that Brad never really considered the otpion of bisexuality? I feel like sexuality is so much more complicated than "straight" and "gay", and for someone who read about Steven Schluter's bisexual thoughts and desires, it seems funny that Brad doesn't consider it for either Will or JJ.

I had originally planned for the story to go through the end of March. It's turning into a really long one. I mean, I've sent Chapter 47 off to edit, and that's only gotten me through January 2, 2000. But we have to at least make it to the end of March.

I don't think that the concept of bisexuality resonates as much with Brad as with you because when he came of age/came out, it wasn't much of an option. You were straight or you were gay. I'm sure Brad's aware of it, but I doubt it would be at the front of his mind unless he had to deal with it in one way or another.

It's not much of a stretch when you think about it. After all, Carson is a master manipulator. Someone that willing to play with the emotions of others so profoundly can't be a nice person. As far as Dan Church, Cody has nailed just about everyone. It'd be no surprise if he knows Dan Church in the biblical sense. He's the only one who's more of a slut than Stefan. :P

Mark,

While I haven't been posting, I have been reading (I wish I had been posting; I knew what Carson was from the beginning based on the twin hits on Brad's and Robbie's businesses). This has turned out to be my favorite CAP story so far. It has the three elements I love: Brad and Robbie, business intrigue and, what's the third? Oh, yeah! Lots of sex.

Thanks for writing.

Don't forget, you still gotta tack on Darius's graduation, which is either May or June 2000. So much of this story has been about getting older, and how a person tackles with getting older. In a thematic sense, omitting Darius's high school graduation would be glaring, because it's just as much of a milestone for a parent as it is for their child. And it's one of those, "Where did the time go?" type dealies, which again fits into the overarching theme of the story.

As for the bi stuff, that makes sense. I grew up when people were openly discussing bisexuality in songs like

...I remember I knew what it was when I was like 10.

I wonder if Will's going to tell Brad about how hot he thinks Josh Hartnett is. (To use a teen idol of that era. LOL.)

I don't see Darius' graduation as a vital milestone for this story. I think that having Darius start college in September will have just as big of an impact on Brad and Robbie and their aging issues, at least as I see it.

So you're going to end the story in September 2000 instead of June 2000? Huh?

I mean, I guess you got a point, but I do think in any event, a child leaving the nest has to figure huge into the pysche of someone who is grappling with aging issues. I think we need to see Brad and Robbie deal with losing one of their kids to adulthood- the inherent drama in that seems pretty irresistible and it's germane to the general theme of this story.

No, I'm saying I might end it sooner.

I'm just saying I really think Brad seeing his oldest child off to college fits in too well with the story theme to pass that up. For Brad, aging isn't just about wrinkles, or bald spots. It's also about seeing that child you took in as a three year suddenly become this college man, off to take on the world.

Then again, this could be covered when JJ and Will graduate from high school in 2005...so...hmm. You do gotta point.

Hi Mark,

I wanted to drop by and tell you I love how Millennium is progressing. I am constantly checking in to see if there are new chapters.

When I saw the movie's that they picked up to make.... this reminded me of something.

That's pretty hilarious!

You know, I'll admit- I've never seen either Gladiator or Erin Brokovitch. EB never really interested me, and I'm not that interested in Russel Crowe as an actor so I never checked out that movie.

My favorite movies from 1999-2000 were Ten Things I Hate About You, American Beauty, Center Stage, and Frequency.

You should watch Erin Brockovich. It's an excellent movie that I highly recommend.

I guess but I tend to lean towards light-hearted stoner comedies or satires or coming-of-age stuff. I'm sure its a good movie, but I'm not in the mood for dramas, generally, unless we're talking teen angst.

It's not purely a drama. There's actually some comedy ala Julia Roberts along the way. You should know how she is by now. She's quite quippy.

Yahoo group?

And I second the reccomendation to watch Erin Brockovich. It's a well-constructed story about someone that should be totally out of her depth, but isn't. More feel-good than drama, and takes a lot of the same themes as coming of age stories, since that's a fair description of what she's doing.

:wacko: :read::lmao:

Really, I miss one day of looking on here and find so many things to comment on...

1) I don't think Darius graduating from High School would be that big of a deal for Brad, Robbie, or the rest. I know for me at least going off to college was a much bigger deal than my High School graduation. Plus with this series often very important individuals or events come and go sometimes with very little notice, I still have never gotten over the fact that Tonto's death was never really covered. She was really one of my favorite people for most of the early stories in this series. I realize that Mark cannot cover everything that each of us believes is important so we have to give him the benefit of doing what he believes will move the story along.

2) I am also suprised by Brad's lack of consideration of the Bi option. I came of age in the late 70's and early 80's and did sleep with a few women, I figured out quickly that it wasn't for me, but knew and still know several men that consider themselves to be Bi. I honestly don't understant people that insist you have to be Gay or Straight. The idea that only one of those choices is permissable is just unacceptable to me. Although, I consider myself to be completely Gay, I don't see why anyone should limit themsleves if they don't want to.

3) While Russell Crowe has seemingly become very self important and isn't nearly as interesting as he use to be, check out some of his early work in Australian films. Some of his early work is really quite good. Look for " The Sum of Us ", this was the first thing I ever saw him in, " Proof ", " Romper Stomper ", and " The Crossing ". He had a certain light charm in his early work that he lost somewhere along the way, maybe working with Sharon Stone in " The Quick and the Dead " ???

Keep the chapters coming and the quality high, Mark you are an amazing writer and obviously have a great support staff...

David
