TLM280249 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hmm - didn't think this one was that difficult. Another couple of clues - This was only the 2nd time the actor playing the villain hadn't portrayed a "good guy" The opening sequence was an homage to "High Noon"
Andy78 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I've never heard the quote, but I'm guessing it's from a Western **only knows a couple of westerns** Hang 'Em High?
TLM280249 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 I've never heard the quote, but I'm guessing it's from a Western **only knows a couple of westerns** Hang 'Em High? Yes it's a "western" Andy but not that one. It's from a Spaghetti Western but most of the cast were Americans
Kitt Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Ok ok, I was hanging back because of my extensive western backround watching with mom as a kid, but it's time to give in and answer. It's from 1968's "Once Upon a Time in the West"
TLM280249 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Ok ok, I was hanging back because of my extensive western backround watching with mom as a kid, but it's time to give in and answer. It's from 1968's "Once Upon a Time in the West" Thanks Kitt = I was beginning to think no one had heard of this movie. Your turn
Kitt Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 How about this one? "Is that crazy enough for you? Want me to take a shit on the floor?"
Andy78 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 It's from 1968's "Once Upon a Time in the West" That's about the only other one I've heard of. "Is that crazy enough for you? Want me to take a shit on the floor?" That's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Andy78 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Here's a line from one of my favourite films ever. I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.
Tomas Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Here's a line from one of my favourite films ever. I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. In my opinion Mel Brooks was/is a comedic genius. He has written and directed some of the funniest films ever. If I'm not mistaken this quote is from his 1987 spoof of "Star Wars"... "Spaceballs"
Tomas Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hmmmm! Let me see... Ok! Try this one: “It's extraordinary! Where do you learn all those languages?”
TLM280249 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Hmmmm! Let me see... Ok! Try this one: “It's extraordinary! Where do you learn all those languages?” Another classic - do you want the English or Greek titles? Never on Sunday (Pote tin Kyriak)
Tomas Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Another classic - do you want the English or Greek titles? Never on Sunday (Pote tin Kyriak) Either works Your turn.
TLM280249 Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Didn't think this was a tough one. However - a clue (or two) :- This movie is another "re-imagining" of an old story which first appeared in print back in the 30's. It was released last year
Kitt Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 "YOU THINK YOU CAN THREATEN MY MOTHER?" Man of Steel - the remake/revamp of the Superman saga's
TLM280249 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Man of Steel - the remake/revamp of the Superman saga's Thought I'd got you stuck Kitt. Should've known better Your turn
Aditus Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Whoop! I usually don't go there because everyone constantly goes there, but I always liked this quote and it really fits today. You must be on stage when the curtain falls.
Aditus Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Okay. I guess you're not into award winning foreign films/movies, including an Oscar nomination in 2005 for 'Best Foreign Language Film of the Year'. The fact that I'm German and the date I posted it should be enough clues to find the name out anyway. Or so I hope. Otherwise the next one who feels like it post another quote.
Kitt Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I'm stumped - and if I give in and google it I will not post an answer!
Tomas Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I have few foreign films (don't particularly care for sub-titles ), but i do have that one. Mainly because I lived the first 8 years of my life under the shadow of WWII. I remember the air raid drills, air raid wardens, blackout curtains and shades, food rationing, Movietone news reels about the war at the Saturday movie matinees, and I was curious about how the Germans viewed Hitlers end. I had forgotten I had it until the clue about the 2005 Academy Award nomination for best foreign language film. The film is Downfall (German title: Der Untergang)
