“Truth? Justice? Human dignity? What good are they?”

Not a favourite but enjoyable none the less

Thank you Tomas

This may be an easy one but here goes:

Hmmm.....4 days... no guesses....it might be time for a clue or two.

This 1999 black comedy is in the mocumentary style used in 'This is Spinal Tap', 'Best in Show' and 'A Mighty Wind'.

Bonus clue: one of the main characters was the president of the Lutheran Sisterhood Gun Club.

One of my fave musicals - "Paint your Wagon"

Oh the agony of listening to Ray Walston murdering a 'Scottish' accent...

Don't know what has happened to joann (besides the vagaries of life), but  TLM has the correct film.

The quote is from 1969s "Paint Your Wagon".

Perhaps he should go ahead and post a new quote.

Maybe I should.

OK try this one:-

Looks like a clue (or 2) is needed:

This was the 5th of 7 movies the director and star collaborated.

The co-star was originally the "clown" half of a double act.

Is this movie causing that much trouble????

Here's a couple more clues:

This  movie  was the opening film of the 1983 Cannes Film Festival

Actress Sandra Bernhard was allowed to improvise most of her lines as she had no formal acting training and the director wanted her to be as natural as possible.

The only film that I can think of that might fit those clues was not a commercial success and co-starred Jerry Lewis, the comedic half of  Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

Probably have wrong film. "The King of Comedy"

Don't remember the quote nor who the star was and not much about the film itself.

Oh well... had to try.  :)

Don't sell yourself short Tomas - you are correct.

The line was spoken by Rupert Pupkin (Robert De Niro) who played an aspiring comedian who stalked the Jerry Lewis character to get a spot on his talk show.

Sarah Bernhardt won the only American award the movie received - an NSFC award for supporting actress.

The movie was named "Film Of The Year" by the London Film Critics and the screenplay won a BAFTA (British Oscar)

So your turn again
